I need advice on getting a job

Im a freshman right now and the thought of a job next year is pretty big on my mind right now. So i was wondering about how easy/ hard it is to get just like a job at a mall or at a restaraunt. Also if you have a job right now if you could tell me some stuff that would be greatly apreciated.

Tbh, getting a job at a restaurant would be ass. Try a grocery store or the mall works.

Pretty much what Plink said, also ask your parents if they know anyone/anywhere looking for people.

I found my current job through friends so it wont hurt to ask anyone you know in work.

If you're not too fussed about where you work just apply/ask about vacancies eeeverywhere, shops, malls, supermarkets, fast food places, even factories etc. Check your local newspapers for the jobs section.

ya, if you dont get a tip... eeek... restaurants arent required to pay minimum or more than minimum wage

I was ganna say, but honestly i dunno, i guess since you dont really serve the food, you prob get minimum, just ask

Apply EVERYWHERE. I've put in around 40 application and have had only one interview. I was scheduled for a second one, but the lady was a fucking idiot, long story. And the other place didn't hire me, they just have me on a list as someone to hire if a spot opens up.

In the States, waiters and waitresses get paid less than $3 an hour as they receive tips. Every other position gets paid either the minimum wage or higher depending on the establishment.

Edit- However, if you were a server and your rate of tips didn't equal the minimum wage the restaurant would pay you the rest to make up for it. Also, most places that serve alcohol require you to be 19 to be a server, so you don't need to worry anyways.

mmk thanks for all the more advice. I kinda like the idea of working for a store in the mall. Sounds kinda fun uknow. btw , strawberry shortcake or anyone else , don't swear on my threads k.
