Here I sit alone in my room
Depression hits and how to do I cope
I chamber my pain into pleasure with dope
The feeling numbs as I begin to use
The Life I once had will all fade away
I took my first drink at the age of 14
If only I knew this would change my life
I would drag my friends in to comfort my addiction
It doesn’t seem bad if everyone’s doing it
So I cheat and I steal and I lie
All for what some would call a high
An addict alone is depressed and distraught
But an addict with friends is nothing but fun
So sooner or later the fun has to stop
People grow up and friends grow apart
But the love of the drug stays with you like a burden
They think it’s a phase you’ll grow out of at adulthood
But these are the years that it’s ok to use
Cause alcohols not a drug it has no high effects
This is a lie drink a few and you’ll see
The real you is gone and evil proceeds
You’ve grown sick of beer and the liquors too strong
Find an easier way to throw away your troubles
With a plant and a pipe you start to inhale
The high is instant and there’s no trouble here
No sickness in the morning and whose there to tell
To stop there with weed is a silly thing to say
There’s other crazy ways to expand your mind
Put your body through hell and you’ll know what I mean
Ready a candle and a spoon
Here comes Heroin and Cocaine too
You’ve heard of the dangers
Ask Farley, Cobain and Belushi too
At the height of there fame and there excess too
They ended life as no one should
The dangers of drugs lie beneath the drugs premise
The drugs of today are prescribed by a man
Who identity to kids is to mend and to heal
A doctor can ruin life’s with a pen and some paper
Now synthetic heroin and uppers and downers
Can be picked up at pharmacies with no dealer in sight
Your whole life is ruined to one little pill
The fix is deemed by society as reasonable
While a man in an ally can beg all he wants
He’s thrown out of society like a misfit...a killer
They throw them in jail to fix there old ways
Killers, Rapists, and Violence ensues
But a Drug user sits in his cell looking out
Does he learn in this lifestyle?
There’s and in and an out?
The crime he commits is real
He knows what he did’s wrong
But his whole life his parents committed this foul
Your young and learning what this world has to offer
Your head hurts so mother is here to take care
She finds pills and says take some of these
Your symptoms go away but the lesson is learned
Your fathers a drunk and his violence comes out
Who’s the proprietor of this evil deed?
Your neighborhood liquor store is where you can find
The drug that will make you turn into a swine
You become an animal and your decisions are blurred
You could cheat on your lover and never think twice
Or hurt who u love and ruin there perceptions of who you really are
Your love for them is real but they cant take this pain
For days you will miss them and cry in the rain
The one thing that helps is what put you here first
A vicious cycle that never goes away
You inflict pain upon yourself and this is not new
The pain on your wrists is an old habit soon
You’ve been hurting your body with drugs since 14
Your life is confusing and nothing seems right
There greatest feeling you can think of is to let it all go
The attention means nothing and you don’t care if you’re missed
The only one who you needed to love was yourself
But now your life’s nothing and you want to make your mark
Now there is something you find a use for
You’ll never worry about anything anymore
And your life as no purpose
So off he goes on a suicidal mission
He loads the gun up and he looks at the floor
If only these drugs never took a hold
The message is simple and the message is there
There’s no drug that can heal and also not harm
But it’s nothing to waste
Cherish every second you have
It will make your life better
It takes one story read to change a mans mind
So stop what your doing and rewind
