Okay, so I really, really, REALLY like my best guy friend... and I have for about 2 years. I dont know if he feels the same way about me, but all my friends keep telling me that we should go out. I want to, but I'm afraid if I tell him how I feel it will destroy our friendship. Should I tell him or just keep quiet and see what happens? I would appreciate ANY advice you all could give me. i can totally understand i have liked this boy for ages. i told him that i liked him and he never changed at all. i had been wanting to tell im for ages but i couldnt. i did though and i am glad i did. it never changed a thing except took the weight of likeing him off my shoulders. and besides if he thinks the same and is also shy to tell you something good may come out of it. you just have to be ready.

if theres another girl in the picture, dont do anything. if there isnt, talk to him about the way you feel. be prepared for rejection or the same feelings back at you that you have for him.

AH! That was the same exact position I was in like a few years ago. I liked my best friend David and I felt like it was my responsibility to tell him, because I'm a very open person and I want to tell him that I liked him.

I eventually told him right after school ended. Well, he asked me if I liked him but I denied it. And this is on instant messenger. SO a few minutes later, I just told him that I did like him and that I worried that one of us will change, if not both, somehow. I stayed the same and he changed. So, it was quite a different suprise and we didn't do anything about it. He used to be my best friend and now we hardly say one word to each other.

But, I advise you to tell him you truly feels and wish for the best. Who knows? He might feel the same way.

That is my EXACT fear! That somehow we will end up almost complete strangers that dont talk, or since we both go to the same small school with only 300 people that everything would be akward.

Well, you could wait till you feel ready to talk to him about it.

Maybe just throw in a joke about you two being "together" every once in a while and see what he says. See if he lets his hand linger a little longer than normal, stuff like that. Use your best judgement.

Thanks for tha advice! My friends throw in PLENTY of jokes about us dating, and he just kinda shrugs his shoulders. I was tlaking to him today and he said he wanted me to go to hawaii with him so he would have someone to talk to! I think I'll take that as a good sign!

I think you just have to weigh your odds and take this issue one day at a time.
