People are never themselves over the net. You could perfect anything about your personality because unlike real, fluent, conversation you have the time to go back and edit. Additionally, you could lie without being caught. Theres no lie detectors that work over the internet. The anonymous nature of the world wide web allows you to take over any personality you so choose. I for one never talk like this to anyone in real life. I'm the stupid person in low-level(stupid) classes off the web. You can also never know what the people really look like. You could Google for pictures to use as your own, or because you can take as much time as you want, you could only send pictures that make you look the best, ones that don't show any flaws.

A relationship is like building something. I tell everyone this when it comes to rushing and speeding up the process of a relationship. Building something takes time and so does a relationship. You must have everything you need, in the first place. Which can cost you, if you know what I mean. Now, if you take your time building then it will last longer and be more stronger because you thought everything through. Now, if you rush it then sooner or later you will notice that you made a mistake, which is trying to end your relationship. It might just break and crumble. You can build a bad building and continue to work harder at it but it takes effort and shit.

Do you think they make studies as to whether or not people lye over the internet? What the hell do you want from me? It's from personal expierence. Theres a difference between the way people act in real life and over the internet. For Example: A friend of mine nearly never speaks, and when he does theres no swearing at all. Over the internet(AIM and stuff), you have to pretend to sign off to get em to stop IM'ing you.
You entirely missed the point of this part of my post.
I forget not everyone else once spent a week learning how to tell when people are lying. That's beyond the point though. It's much, much, much easier to lye about yourself because theres no proof. It's anonymous.
I wasn't really even talking to the origionally poster by this part in my rant. I was simply criticizing meeting people you found online in general. If he lives and goes to the same school, then I don't really care.
Web cams typically have low quality video. Especially if your talking to someone on dial-up. You could also face it in certain directions, or turn off lights so they can't see things.
If you don't have a camera and are on a chat room, what's the easiest way to impress someone? Fake it. Pedophiles use the same tactic, which is why it's so simple for them to meet people. It's really easy. Go try it on a chat room some time.
