They were most likely telling the truth. I only do it like once a month or so and thats only when my boyfriend and I push things a bit far (We're both virgins and I have a purity ring). Guys have to masterbate if they don't have sex because they'll get a buildup of semen and get blue balls. Literally. I asked my doctor all the facts about it once. Girls are likely to do it less because they don't have to worry about that issue. I will say, however, that most girls will lie about it and say that they've never done it when they most certainly have. Its part of human nature to experience curiosity about your own body. So, its likely that the girls were lying.

I think people, guys and girls, do it because they feel the desire and because it feels great.
Other stuff, like blue balls, stopping prostate cancer etc etc are only extra reasons to do it.
But real reason we all do it is great feeling of pleasure. That's it.
And I'm not sure girls do it less (on average).

Girls don't get any pleasure from masturbating though. They are not very sexual beings.

I don't believe them, all the girls I know do it at least once a week. They could be telling the truth but that's only if they're getting a lot of action and don't need to pleasure themselves. I guess it could depend on the age of the girls too. 4-5 times a year is bullshit in my opinion though

Although when people think of female masturbation, they automatically think of fingering, and if that were true then I would completely agree with the 4-5 times a year, because you don't feel very much with that. But any way that a female is pleasuring herself; grinding, rubbing.. what so ever by herself and getting off that is still masturbating and I believe that girls masturbate (being whichever technique works for them) at least once a week, unless they are receiving pleasure from another person.

It's weird, because all my guy friends are pretty open about the fact they masturbate, and how often, etc. Yet it's something my girl friends and I NEVER discuss. This lead me to believe that less girls masturbated, however as soon as you step foot on the internet you soon realise this is not the case.

For some reason, there is more of a taboo surrounding girls and masturbation. I don't masturbate thaaat regularly, idk, but either way, I think girls shouldn't have to be so embarrassed about it.

I definitely masturbate regularly. Usually no penetration involved though. I don't see how some males can say we don't garner any pleasure from masturbation? Do you have a vagina? No? Then you have no say in the matter.
