Really though, it's also kind of creepy. If I were to make sex tapes with my boyfriend () and after we broke it was his intention to keep them I would be steamed. It's disrespectful. It's viewing apart of somebody that you are no longer permitted to.
If she doesn't keep the tapes to watch over again, neither should he. If there was an agreement that they both would keep one set of the tapes, sure that's fine, but since there isn't I think all evidence of them should be destroyed.

she can't tell him to forget about all the times they have had sex.
the tapes are just a recorded memory in a sense
she can't demand him to stop thinking about the sex they had, so how would it be different than keeping the tapes?

and, you might think it's weird, but everyone has their own opinions... some people might not care if they keep the tapes. i'm not saying the other person will feel the same

and in my opinion, sex is something that will draw yourself closer to that person, for marriage, or what not...

Yeah, memories, those are fine, but video tapes are something tangible so it is very different from him just thinking about the times they had sex.

I understand that different people might have varied opinions on the subject but all that really matters right now is that she wants them destroyed. Maybe any other girl wouldn't mind, but she does and in a situation like this I think that needs to be respected.

Neither you or I can fully comprehend the relationship or why the broke up in the first place so it's hard for me to comment back on this. I think sex is always special, even if the two parties involved don't believe it so it's going to leave a lasting affect and is never so simple as "Bye!" especially when sex is attached a relationship so let's not pretend we understand this girls reasons for breaking up with him. If she wants a new start, let her have it and not have something like sex tapes hanging over her head constantly.

In that case I don't think it's good to keep them. It would be the first step to letting go, which it what you need to do. I feel horrible giving advice like that, because it isn't good advice to give... But it's what you need to do- do it for yourself.
