there's tons of info about it but here's some of the basics...
since ur just startin out i would stick to pads for a while
just make sure you wear the appropriate pad for the flow
so if its heavy u want a heavy pad
if its lite u can wear a lite pad
i usually just change pads whenever i go to the bathroom...
for tampons the same thing goes basically
appropriate size for flow
also change them every 4-8 hours
i usually just change it when i go to the bathroom as well
but u can go to the bathroom without changing it
u can swim with a tampon and do all other sports
u can pretty much do anything with a tampon
pads are more limited so i suggest a tampon if you are going to be very active
well i hope that helps some
good luck
have a happy period. always.
lol |

Uhm, I got my period for the first time in sixth grade on picture day. I didn't realize it or feel anything until I went to the bathroom. It's really not hard to deal with. You get it, you wear pads or tampons, you get mood swings and then its over. haha. Oh, you may get cramps. I get a few here and there, but nothing unbearable. You can always use painkillers if you're in too much pain. uhm, don't worry about leaking either. Just make sure to get pads that give you good coverage. If it's your first time using tampons, use a pad as well. Just to be safe.
The worst thing for me is running the miles required during the school year while I'm on my period. I get cramps more easily and yes, it's uncomfortable. You'll get used to all of this. |

But after like a few it just becomes normal
And I still find them hard to deal with and ive been having them since i was 14
The hardest part is PMT, which I get reallllly badly and I have to hide away in my bedroom so I don't bite off people's head lol
And cramps can be a pain too...but I usually just sit with a hot water bottle on my tummy and it takes away the pain.
But don't worry about it
xxx

And you'll get used to the pads soon enough. Maybe if you walk around like you've got a wedgie for a bit, she'll realise something's up. |

yeah it is pretty much use pads or tampons and take pain killers for the pain. and midol works best for me because it also helps with the bloating i feel as well as the tiredness and pms.... but if you want to sleep just take regular tylenol or advil because midol has like a shit load of caffiene in them
