Yup. All females are born with a clit. All males start off as females and as a result the male penis is simply an overgrown clit. Very weird to think about.

I know its completely messed up but yeah all babies start off as females. That is why guys have nipples. I found that out one day and it freaked me out but yeah whatever the body is a strange thing.

Source? And what do you suggest causes half of these female babies to become male?

Surely the gender of a baby is determined by its chromosomes, before birth.

You make a very good point. And look anywhere on any baby development site and it will tell you at some point.

And i thought that the sex was determined by the chromosomes as well but apparently not.

One bit i read said "All babies will start to develop as females as both are born with nipples and clitorises and if the baby is determined a male then it will develop the genetalia and a girl will just grow bigger"

Strange I know. It completely baffles me as to how that works but yeah.

They start to develop in the same way, and then branch off at a certain point. So while the sex is determined, the initial development phase is the same.
