We weren't impossible before we had these things, yeah it's had an advantage on our lifespan etc. but it isn't required to make humanity 'possible'.

Like they said above me, I think technology is leading to less intelligent people. Everything is so easy to learn or find in a split second, that no one feels the need to learn anything for the long game. As for where technology will take us next, I worry about artificial intelligence and the innovation of cars that drive themselves, as well as other technologies that run without step by step human commands. With those sort of things, we're going to lose what we (right now) consider basic abilities, and it'll be even harder to learn them again in the future if there is ever a need to. Technology could take away a lot of individual power.
