If you got offered a job that you know you would enjoy but didn't get paid much, as well as a job that you believe you wouldn't enjoy or will be good at but you get paid a lot more. Which would you take?

At this point in my life, the second job where I would earn more regardless of enjoyment.
Often times, building up resources and contacts is more important than having fun. Once you have resources, contacts, a solid resume, and credentials, you can afford to go after jobs you will enjoy more. I believe in starting somewhere and working up...if you begin immediately in whatever you love, you eventually have no reason to love it anymore. Or, at least that has been the case with many people I know. As well, when you work to get to what you love, you're more likely to feel motivated.~*~

At this point in my life, I'd take the first one, because I would leave when I go to uni:p as long as it gives me some money idc[SIGPIC]http://25.media.tumblr.com/tumblr_m9s4z2bKxt1rf2c0jo1_1280.jpg[/SIGPIC]

This, and the key being 'at this point.' I'm literally going to have to make this decision next year - I loved my summer job, but I could get paid more as a lonely equipment operator compared to being a general laborer with my friends, and money wins out when you're trying to save for school, a house, etc. :p
When I'm done school I'll be able to get a job that pays higher than any job I could get right now anyway, and I can focus on doing something I enjoy more. -
I would pick the job I know I'll enjoy doing. I think it's important to enjoy what you do, and if you know you won't enjoy something I wouldn't pick that.

It really depends on a lot of factors. Will this be the job I'll have for the rest of my life? How much more do I like the first job? How much more will I get paid with the second job? Locations, are they permanent?
Regardless, I'll probably take the first job.

I can think of plenty of professions I could do for the rest of my life. I think the people you know just thought they would "love" to do that certain job, but found out it wasn't for them. If people start off with a job that's ideal for them, then they wouldn't have that problem. Unfortunately, switching jobs constantly just to find your dream job isn't very realistic since you'd probably have to go back to college and retrain unless the two contrasting jobs aren't vastly different. Also, as people mature they tend to view things very differently and hence changing their opinion of an ideal job.
"As well, when you work to get what you love, you're more likely to feel motivated.". I think motivation is necessary to get a job that you love and not so much a byproduct. Even then, motivation isn't as rewarding as the sense of accomplishment you get when you do a job you love and do very well.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC] -
