Yeah I would say it's normal. When I was younger and had to start taking pills for an eye condition I have, I had the hardest time swallowing. I would try over and over again, and I would swallow the water but not the medicine. Then I figured out it was easier for me to take it if I drank through a straw (weird, I know XD). So I did that for about 2 years. But now I'm used to the feeling so I don't have to drink water through a straw to take medicine anymoer. It's okay to be scared, it's just something that you'll have to get used to. Find a way to make it easier (for me it was the straw). Don't be embarassed, everyone will have to take medicine sometime in their life, it's nothing to be ashamed of
