I'm personally not Vegitarian....but I've done a lot of research on the topic. There are so many advancements in Vegan and Vegitarian dishes that you really don't have to alter your food that much. I just wrote an article on like 6 or 7 different types of Vegan milk alone!
Just to clear something up...most people (including me) who don't eat meat, don't eat it because they don't want to support the industry, which is disgusting (read Fast Food Nation). NOT because they think eating meat in general is wrong. I have no problem with people going out, killing a dear and eating it, that's natural. It's pretty much the same as lions and other carnivores (although the dear in our case has a bit less of chance)
But I do have a problem with slaughter houses killing thousands of cattle shipped from over-crowded feed lots a day to make big macs.
Basically eating meat has gone out of control. A normal serving of meat is pathetic compared to what most americans eat. And also, SO much flesh is wasted. It's scary. I shudder to think how much meat gets throw away for not being sold from supermarkets.
Erm, I've been vegetarian for about 6 years now for animal rights reasons and stuff. I've thought about being vegan, but it looks really unhealthy to me.
Btw, I hate PETA and everything they do. They're too extremist in their methods, I don't think shocking or scaring people into believing them is the right thing to do, I don't like how they treat women, I don't like how they said feeding meat to your children is child abuse... etc. Plus I've read loads of things about them purposly abusing animals in their videos to make them look more shocking...
Whoever asked about milk, (although I probably shouldn't answer because I drink it) is that, even with organic milk (which is meant to be better), male calves born to dairy cows are slaughtered when they're just a few days old, no chance for a life at all for them.
Does anyone here wear leather? Do you think buying a second hand pair of leather shoes makes it a bit more acceptable? I really need some new shoes...
I'm not a vegetarian, but I've been thinking of becoming one. I'm not sure though. I have two vegetarians that are in my life; my friend Micaela, who's 12, but been a vegetarian for at least two years. Probably more, but I only met her two years ago. She's really committed. And also, my 19-year old cousin Samantha, who's been a vegetarian for as long as I can remember. Probably like 10 years or so. She started really young.
choose life, its a beautiful choice.
dare to dream.
be yourself, be original.
ilyy so much ♥
I would be a vegetarian, but there's nutrients in meat that we're intended to have. I like the healthiness behind it, but the lack of necessary nutrition sickens me.
My dad used to be for a little bit.
I only really kinda eat chicken out of all meats... I do like some others but chicken is my fave. I don't think I'd ever be able to go vegetarian as I just love my chicken. Lol
