Good audition song for choir?

    • Good audition song for choir?

      I'm planning to audition for our school's choir this year and I don't know what song I should sing. I think I'm an alto. I can also sing soprano but I can't really hit some high notes (due to lack of vocal training). I want a song that is simple but not boring.

      I'm thinking of singing "Shake It Out" by Florence + the Machine but I'd love to see some suggestions from you guys.

      it depends on what kind of choir it is

      if they sing songs like that then sure

      if they sing like religious songs or somefin you should prepare somethin like that or if you know theres a song they sing that suits your voice then try that out

      theyll want to hear that you can sing songs that are similar to what theyll be gettin ya to sing

      an you can train your voice by doin daily vocal exercises

      like singin arpeggios or short scales or somefin goin up a semitone at a time til you reach the highest notes youre comfy with
