All my friends are popular but I am not. I know it doesn't even matter but why does it bother me then? I don't get invited to parties but I know the people who have them. I even almost asked my crush out but I figured she would say no just because of popularity. Any suggestions?
Does it even matter?

I wish I knew how to become popular. Being popular brings success. Popular people usually do well in life - even if they're bad people. I used to have a colleague who was a total bastard, but he got away with things that most people would have been fired and/or arrested for - simply because of his popularity.

Brand names boiDine and dash.

There are some popular ugly guys - but they must have something else going for them.

stop being pussiesWhy don't you just start talking them first? I mean, if you really want to talk to someone just do it. The worst that could happen is they ignore you, and if that's the case then they aren't worth your time, find someone else to talk to. Just remember girls can be dicks. -

They're unlikely to do all that just because you talked to them?
-
They're possibilities. Many popular kids view unpopular kids with contempt and some will punish them merely for approaching them.

That's another good point. People who were supposedly your friends last week can treat you like shit this week. A lot of people pretend to be your friends, but just want to use you or set you up so that they can get you in trouble.
-
yeah well that's one of the things you've got to learn in life, people can be twats
-
Yes, but how can you spot twats who pretend to be good people?
-
I'm afraid you'll have to cross that road when you get there
-
I'm frequently 'crossing that road' and getting run over. How can I spot bastards from a distance?

well you're not going to learn that until you start getting to know them?
