Can I benchpress every day?

    • Can I benchpress every day?

My goal is 175 kg by end of summer. I am at 150 kg. I bench 5 days a week. My pecs and shoulders are really growing but I have been stuck under 150 kgsince I turned 15. My friend is 14 and bench pressed 165 kg. He only benches 2 times per week. We both want to compete in powerlifting. I am 7 inches taller then him, but why is he stronger too? It pisses me off. lol
    • There are lots of factors to take into consideration. For example,
      the body type,
      metabolism,
the amount of exercise away from bench pressing (for example, the amount of walking) a person does,
      a person's diet, etc.

Try not to compare yourself to others but, rather, just focus on the best you can do - slowly increasing the amount of weight lifting/bench pressing you can do, always listening to what your body tells you.
Some days you may be able to do more and other days it won't be good to push too hard in case you run the risk of injuring yourself. In time, as you get older and your muscles get used to the workout, you should be able to increase the amount you can lift.
