Doombro1: Well Hello! Your are the 5th person now. I have another problem thanks to one of you guys. I follow the step by step thingy, tells me to goto Control panel and add/remove programs and click on AOL connectivity Service and click remove then click repair, but instead it uninstalled and now my computer downstairs is...
Doombro1: ...unable to open AOL.
Doombro1: And amazingly i don't have it on my computer yet i am able to open AOL
Chatagentuk121: Can you please tell me the exact error message that you receive?
Doombro1: And it actually says to downloaded it when you open AOL which it should do then says restart your computer and then it happens all over again like a loop formation.
Doombro1: Wow, Jee. I am 100% convinced your a computer. Just like the others...Same old question, sorry if affends you in anyway but im a bit annoyed cause first i keep disconnecting randomly then AOL wont work on my other computer.
Doombro1: All it says is you need to install the connectivity thingy so you can use AOL 9.0 which i click yes then it says restart your computer which i do
Doombro1: and then it says it all over again.
Doombro1: So then i system restored my computer and it still says it.
Chatagentuk121: Can you please tell me the version of AOL and Windows that you are using?
Doombro1: Oh jee, Not this again....Windows XP and AOL 9.0....And no it isn't nothing to do with Service Pack 2.
Chatagentuk121: It seems that there is some problem with the modem drivers and also the ACS files which are for AOL connections seems to be corrupt that is the reason you are facing this problem.
Chatagentuk121: You will need to try few basic steps like repairing ACS, Resetting your DSL modem, configuring the firewall with AOL,Removing and reinstalling the modem drivers etc .
Chatagentuk121: I have an e-mail designed specificially for that problem. I'll send that to you immediately.Follow the instructions in that e-mail and if you have any further problems then please do come back to us.
Doombro1: Erm.
Doombro1: Althought your older than me i know a simple way.
Chatagentuk121: Okay.
