Hootie and the Blowfish

    • Hootie and the Blowfish

Anyone here like Hootie and the Blowfish? I've loved them since the mid 90s, they're still one of my favorites. "Time" and "Not Even the Trees" are two of my all time favorite songs. Although "Drowning" contradicts my opinion on the Confederate Flag (my opionion being apparant, look at my avatar), I still love them, escpecially "Time".
      "Time, I don't understand
Children Killin' in the streets, dying for a colored rag
      Time, Evil Red and blue
Wash them in the ocean make them clean
Maybe their mother won't cry tonight"

The actual meaning behind theese lyrics is interesting. In modern times, it sounds like a criticism of the war in Iraq. Its not. It was written in 1994. The real meaning is more complex. I'd explain, but its 4:30 a.m.

It is a sad day when an innocent nation's flag is decried as hate speech.

If I say it, I believe it. Most of the time, anyway.
