This isn't about Sony or Playstation, but its been on my mind for a long time.

Everybody loves Mario, right? (*yawn*) You know, that little small, red hat wearing, princess saving, Italian dude. Mario arrived on the scene in the early 80’s and Nintendo hasn’t stopped using him since. That brings me to the main point of this article. Mario is being overused and abused by Nintendo. He’s being used like a regular street prostitute and the Johns keep coming back. Heh, it’s almost looks like a slave labor situation. I did a count a couple of months back and found that they’ve released around 87 + games that involve the Mario character, that’s including Mario games, spin-offs using the Mario character, and cameos. If you ask me, this is overboard for any game character. I wouldn’t act as if this was a big deal if Nintendo was constantly creating new series, but that isn’t the case. There aren’t many new Nintendo games between the early 90’s and 2007. Some might say it isn’t a big deal, because each Mario game’s different and offers a new experience. When you have the same characters being used over and over, you’re missing out on getting to know newer characters, bios, and worlds. Am I asking too much? Whether or not Nintendo keeps using Mario doesn’t matter. I just think they need to make some new games a long side Mario, that’s it.

Nintendo fans think Nintendo brings new and fresh ideas, but somehow they always go back to Mario, Donkey Kong, Zelda, and Pokemon.
