Night, O black night
Come now with your darkness
Envelop me
Take me into your folds
To smother my tears
Let them fall no more
Night, O black night
Without your shining stars and moon
Grab me now
From this earth
For which I have no purpose
I am the same as the dead
Night, O black night
I wish not to feel the pain
Of love and of war
I wish not to feel the agony
Of being betrayed by one I love
Heal now this heart of mine
Night, O black night
The path of light is agonizing
I wish to sit in the darkness
And dream
Dream of something better
Without having those dreams be shattered
Night, O black night
Let me not live this life
As others have
Stumbling from day to day
To eventually fall
To be enveloped by the endless sea
Night, O black night
Let me not love
To have my heart destroyed
Once yet again
Let me avoid the temptation
That could obliterate every hope
Night, O black night
When will you come?
I grow weary
And the end is coming soon

Will you ever come?
