      That is a very horrible thing. My mother died at an early age too. I know what you mean about your father. I think my father is doing all he can for me. I can tell why you do to. I would confront him or tell another adult. But after all the good he has done you i think it you should give him another chance. That was a long time ago. Sounds like he has changed. Im sure he will understand
