The Upcoming Conflict with Iran

    • Re: The Upcoming Conflict with Iran

No one got pulled into the army. Thats a lie. And its not my fault you give up all hope of having a better world. I believe I can change the world, laugh if you want you, see if I give two shits. Its what I believe, and Im Sick and fucking tired of having this Same argument about the troops. I support them, I support my friends husbands, and my friends boyfriends, and My Own Fiance who serves in the army. Maybe you don't see it, but I just don't care anymore, people like you will never see it, and thats fine with me now.

When did I say someone was pulled into the army? I have stated that the soldiers have no voice. The army is administered by the generals and the corrupt politicians. Support your friends, let them fight a war for money. Simply understand that it is not their war.

Foreign help may have been one of only a few options for the Iraqi people. But such help could not have been delivered by the US, and indeed it was not. They have made the situation worse not better. Foreign help could have come in the shape of an international coalition to make sure that it was to benefit the people, not, as it is now, the interests of an imperialist power and its allies.

Imperialist power? Now that some grade A communist propaganda right there. WE DONT WANT TO FUCKING OWN IRAQ. Of course securing the oil fields was a priority, take a look at what happened during the first Gulf war. They set em on fire. We are continuing to be at war without a change in the plan because Mr. Dick....Cheney and his buddies are making a shitload of money because they are the militarys number one contractor.(they supply food and other services) I know the result of my post will be some socialist propaganda, but I enjoy reading that stuff :) It's entertaining.

Why do you call it propaganda? It is the reality of what is happening. American businesses are lobbying the government and have too much influence in politics. A great many mistakes have been made by the government when officials were sympathetic to businesses are directly on their payroll. The Bush family, for example, has close economic ties with Saudi Arabia. Despite the immense human right violations by Saudi Arabia, prevalent terrorism and belligerent attitute towards its people, this Administration has done nothing to bring attention to the situation in Saudi Arabia. Why? Because of the economic benefit to the family of the president and other senior political officials of the US. This is far from an isolated incident, but it is one that is better known.

Furthermore, I call it imperialism because that is what it is. Imperialist powers do not need to gain land or followers to be called imperialists. What the US is doing is imperialism, it is taking natural resources from Iraq, controlling oil fields and creating a governmant that will be very compliant with US wishes.

Again I ask, where is the propaganda in my statement?

The war in Iraq had nothing to do with Al-Qaeda, Saddam Hussein, even WMDs..

Politics are always connected with economy to a certain degree, right?
Now, we live in a world, where money and economic prosperity have always been the influential arguments when in comes up to decisions, which are key to a whole nation.
The worldwide currency, used for most transactions, for oil and a bunch of other stuff is the dollar.
And the producing and selling especially petro-dollars is a great subsidiary for the USA's economy.
However, with the dollar sinking against most foreign currencies and especially the euro, it is more benefitial for countries, owning many petro-dollars, to convert them into euros. Saddam Hussein did that crucial mistake. And he was invaded, and toppled. Because I believe that his regime was just an excuse, hiding the real reasons for the war. Because during his regime, a lot of things were done to shia, kurds (remember the poisoning wih tzarin in the iraqi village, which hussain was convicted of) and yet, those thinga were hidden from the society..
And then, in 2001, when Saddam switched to euro, the OPEC was also considering doing it. And that would be fatal for the US economy. And then his terrible regime and his crimes came to light..
So now we know what will happen to other countries if they do that mistake too. OPEC wouldn't dare to swith to euro now, being aware of that.

It's, so to speak, a Bush vs. OPEC war.

PS: i am not an economic expert and i know pretty nothing about economy, except the most obvious stuff, so maybe i am wrong in some of the points i made above.. so if you have some remarks, shoot.

edit : I'm very sorry.. that is the wrong topic!!!!!

So your politics are based on what is economically expedient. You agree with the US invasions based on economic imperialism? You would agree to the killing of thousands of innocents for some profiteering?

Look at Rice's last visit to speak with Saudi Arabia about Middle East peace.

The meeting ended with the Abdullah bin Abdul Aziz Al Saud being insulted by Rice's disregard for their beliefs by barking orders how to ruin his country.

The US won't get anywhere until a new executive branch is present in the US. (Preferrably Paul's or Kucinich's)
