Glass lies on the ground as the lights peer off the railings.
Voices and screams echo off of the trees and bounced back.
Sirens continued to blare as sobs were overheard.
A body laid under the white sheet that was covered in blood.
Beer bottles covered the crime scene.
The murder sat in the back seat of the car trying to collect his thoughts.
He couldn't look at the while sheet without wondering why.
The ambulance drives off as the body lies in the back.
The lights of the car still shinning off of the railings.
The horn is still blaring.
The mother falls to the ground as she looks to the sky.
The father tries to comfort the mother but he breaks down as well.
The older brother is fighting the cops off as he tried to kill the one who killed his baby sister.
The cop car drives off as the family is left there to answer the questions that will never get answered.
A wooden cross is laid against the railing with her name scribbled into the front.
Flowers are imbedded to the soil as they rot over the days.
The murder gets put to death.
But the young girl is already gone.
It won't bring her back.
It won't stop her mother from crying.
It won't stop the father from looking at the prom photos.
And the brother won't even dare look at the crime scene when he passes it everyday.
They will always feel this way.
So, before you think of yourself think of the other people.
The people that will lose more than you will gain as in a few beers.
The people that will cry more tears than the alcohol in your bottle.
The people that will have swollen hands from punching the walls.
The people that will visit the grave site while you rot in hell.
The people that will give anything to gain what they lose back.
