I would think so for the same reason Heather said. The age issue is the main factor. For some people there is a huge difference in not wanting an unborn child to live and not wanting an adult criminal to live.~*~

I'm not sure how I feel about this.
I don't think anyone can really decide where the lines are drawn.
I think the concepts are well-defined and documented as such.
But no one can agree where the lines should be drawn, so all of that stuff should just be thrown out.
Each case needs to be handled individually.

yeah, but the movement is called "pro-life" not pro..innocence? I thought the whole purpose of being pro life was that every human life is sacred, and men shouldn't play the role of god. it is God's job to decide who lives and who doesn't. I could be wrong but heres what I read on wikipedia

I'd never even considered that pro-life would mean pro-life in general rather than just in relation to pregnancy. All the pro-life people I've ever known just talk about it in terms of abortion.~*~

Just because they are "pro-life" doesn't mean that they can't be supportive of punishment. Using the term "life" to define the views is just semantics.

Anyways, that's why they aren't known as "life" supporters.
They are known as "pro-life" supporters.
Pro meaning "for".
They are FOR LIFE.
To narrow such a broad term down to being relevant to only one issue (abortion), would be a gross simplification.
Also, just because you haven't heard it, it doesn't make it completely false.

i'm not saying they can't be supportive of punishment. they can be supportive of jail, torture and whatever and i wouldn't be arguing. but being pro-life and supporting death penalty is totally an oxymoron.

I certainly see why you could think that, but when you get into the meat and potatoes of their actual opinions (instead of just the name) then it doesn't appear to be so much.
Generally, the point is that they think everyone should be given A life. What they do with that life after is their choice. -
