Age! Stop the discrimination!

    • Age! Stop the discrimination!

Alright, as a 13 year old I find the discrimination against me, and those in my age group, to be unwarranted and just plan spiteful. Yes, I realize you all long for these youthful days again, and I know that you may harbor a bit of envy towards us, but that is by no means an excuse to bar us from your society. For example, I find I cannot get into the 16+ sections of this forum... What blasphemy is this! As if I was socially in-adept and too immature to post with 16 year olds? Age has absolutely no correlation with maturity. I'm probably more mature than half the 16 year olds on this board, and I know kids a year younger than me that are more mature than myself! I will clear some things up for you old folks, because I know that with age comes a cloudiness of memory.

1.) First and foremost, yes, we are capable of sexual interaction. Oops, have I crossed a social boundary? Did you just feel a slight, barely noticeable tinge of pain? While I personally do not condone older adolescents getting with younger ones, we young folk still have each other and, quite frankly, that's just my opinion. With this in mind, why should we be barred from 16+ sexual discussions? We are clearly capable of engaging in these discussions, as I believe I have demonstrated in this post. Is it to protect our fragile little minds? Don't want to burst our bubble? No, we don't think babies come from cranes and we, well some of us, have already had sex! This world is changing! Kids are maturing much more quickly! I was watching porn at 7 years old, before I could even masturbate, and a year later I was on that boat too! Anyhow, I realize this may be a sensitive issue and I'll drop it here. I think the point heres been driven home. If your lost at this point, sorry, but the show must go on.

2.) Physical time. No, we are not a bunch of prepubescent midgets. I personally am 5'8, 130 pounds, and I'm average sized. I know a kid who's 6'4 and like 200 something, goes to my school, same grade. Physically, we are not different from somebody who's 16, 17. There is still that same massive variation in physical maturity. Theres prepubescent 13 year olds, yes, but there are prepubescent 16 year olds as well, and I see no reason why we should be barred because of age. Age has very little to do with physical maturity during adolescence.

3.) Mental? No, sorry, we aren't. As this post demonstrates, we are not incapable of intelligence.

So, anybody have any reasons to bar 13, 14, and 15 year olds from any section of the forum?
    • Re: Age! Stop the discrimination!

I get what you're saying, but in likes of the 16+ forum, it may be inappropriate for under 16's to view that section. I I can very much see why under 16's aren't allowed to view sexual 'or' glamor material. Just think about it for a second, it's not set for kids/young teens to view, despite how mature a person is. There has to be some borderline. As for other stuff, i very much agree. I've never been one to believe you should be a certain age to have rights for things, as maturity completely outweighs that. But having said that, i'd personally say that you're not seeing the rules mature minded.

I suppose there has to be a borderline as to what those of my age are exposed to. Excuse me please, I'm going to go turn on the news and hear about the man who badtripped on PCP, bit his sons eyes out, than tried to chop off his legs with an axe. Than after I'll go wack off for the.. what.. fourth time today? No sorry, fifth. I often lose count on weekends. Than, after, when I'm bored again, I might walk back into the living room and hear about the 8 year old girl who was brutally raped, than discarded in several different pieces. I'll than collapse on the couch and sleep till 6 pm. When I awake, I'll call up my drug-slinging best friend and my shroom-hunting girlfriend and we can go to the track-out party at the lucky bastard whos parents are out of towns' house. Probably do a bunch of shit I shouldn't, enjoy myself immensely, collapse there and sleep... walk back home at 12pm, and begin the cycle all over again.

Excuse my overly-discriptive mannerisms, but my point is that we already get a hell of a lot of 'inapropriate' stimuli notintendedforouragegroup. I think the least anybody could do is allow us to discuss these things with those who have more years under their belt. Why can't express our emotions, fears, worries, problems, and issues with other, more experienced people? I am very much so certain that I am immature in a variety of aspects, but the only way I'm going to achieve maturity in these things is if I'm exposed to them. At this point, I feel blindfolded in the minefeild of life. I can either stumble around blindly until I hit one, and possibly be seriously injured, or somebody could kindly take off the smothering rag and guide me through it all. You know what I'm saying?

'Scuse me if I'm ranting, but this is how i express myself. I mean no offense, hope nones taken from this admittedly terrible response. Don't even know any of you but I love all of ya. :love1:

that's what 13 y.o teens think, but believe me, when you reach our age you'll understand it.

If it comes down to it, I can just switch IP's, make a new account, and put my age as 16. But I desire more than that. I desire justice. Besides, the hell do yall even do in there? Share racey stories with eachother?

Considering you're only 13, I don't think it's any of your business what goes on in there.

It's not a question of maturity. Just as normally those under 18 are barred from visiting porn sites, the same applies here. It's the law.

If you're pissed because you can't enter the 16+ section then you're just going to have to bite the bullet, so to speak. You should probably just stick to masturbating; seeking justice on an online forum isn't gong to get you far.

Right, sorry. Forgot the lever in the back of your heads labeled intelligence is switched to the off position the moment you figure out your speaking to someone younger.

This is in the debate section for a reason - not because it looks prettier than the other sections. It's a debate about age discrimination, which is presented rather perfectly in this thread. The 16+ section was a reference point to which you could all relate, and so I chose it as an example. Once the thread fell into anarchy after the, what, third post, I tried to get it back on track by making it, in my opinion, perfectly clear that the 16+ section is an example and that this is not a request. But again, I was foiled by the ignorance button.

Now if anybody has a rebuttal that does no consist of "Its the 16+ section and so it is justified in being so" logic, which I clearly requested did not appear at all via the first post, enlighten me. If your subconsciously threatened by the actuality presented in this thread, theres no need to share the fact with another lack-luster reply. By the way Peacekeeper, you probably should masturbate more often. It might help with the premature-ejaculation. No need to be insecure about it and go off flaming others with your passive aggressive comments.

Nah I'm kidding. But for real, speak as if you had some respect for other people man.

I expected as such. I'll point out, however, that it's 16+, so if there IS pornography being distributed, it would be illegal to be hosted on a US server and would be illegal for all those 16 and 17 year olds to view the site. Illegality should not be an issue, if there isn't porn than theres not a legal problem, and if their is porn the law has already been broken. Therefor, that's not a valid point.

      .

Quite the point I was referring to. You clearly seemed upset that you could not enter the 16+ section. I responded, are you upset about that, too?

Don't you worry, I do my fair share of masturbating. ;)

The application is the same. There is no porn posted in there, yet the same reasoning can be applied to the 16+ section.

Just because you're capable of doing something, masturbate or watch porn in your case, doesn't mean you're legally allowed to.

Elaborating, the 16+ section was created when the Cleavage thread in the past was not locked up in a special section. This aroused the case of people too young to be viewing such material, therefore the 16+ section was created to alleviate the problem.

It isn't because you aren't mature (which is a given fact due to your posts), but because we have to adhere to societal norms. 14 year olds are capable of driving, but are they allowed a license? The same applies here.

Fact remains that you can't enter for a reason. If you can't see that reason, you're not mature enough.

Besides, what purpose is there for you to enter? Watch porn, kid. The 16+ section is not a place where you can pleasure yourself.

If you're that keen to see racey stories, theres plenty of other sites apart from teenhut that will appeal to your needs.

Or, just go buy a magazine.

Come back in 10 years and tell me that you were a mature 13 year old! Then you will understand the age discrimination.
When i was 13 i thought i was mature (and i was alot more mature than the majority of my age group) and well capable of making important decisions, sexual included, all 13 year olds think they are!
But you want some news? You aren't, and you will disagree and argue with me and won't listen but just wait until you turn 17/18 and then look back and you'll understand were we're coming from. When i was your age i had the same opinion as you so i know where you're coming from, but stop complaining and enjoy your childhood whilst you still have it instead of trying to be older than you are.

First off this is completely wrong, Age is a HUGE factor in maturity, right now you might not realize this but as you age you experience different situations which cause you to mature, some people might mature faster than other depending on what experiences they have had and how early in life they have had them...there are laws based on age because of this fact.

First, babies come from storks not cranes....lol (but it is storks not cranes fyi), and I am assuming that you are saying kids are maturing because they are having sex at younger ages, I hate to burst your bubble but sexual activity has nothing to do with maturity, just because you are having sex does not mean that you are mature enough to do so ( i am speaking mentally, and emotionally not physically). You may think that you are old enough to have sex but there is a lot to consider, for example what if you get someone (or become, i didn't read if you were a boy or girl) pregant, do you have any idea how to prepare for that, what if you get an STD are you mature enough to admit that you had unprotected sex and got HIV? Just becaue you were watching porn at 7 and masturbating does not mean you have the mental or emotional maturity to handle life changing events like having a baby.

Again you are only assuming that maturity is only a physcall feature, which it is not. You may physically look like an adult but emotionally and mentaly you are not!

Intelligence does not constitute mental maturity. Just because someone is smart does not mean they are mature. I mean when I was 13 I was smart, but now I realize that there are things that I could not have handled at that age.

      TVizzy wrote:

My assumption that there is a 16+ section would be to protect those younger than 16 from certain material. You may feelt that you are mature enough to veiw certain material but the fact is you are not. There are laws based on age because of this fact, in the US for example you have to be 16 to drive (15 1/2 to get a permit) this is because it is generally accepted that youths under 16 dont posses enough mental maturity to handle driving in very congested areas. In the US you have to be 18 to vote, or join the military (you can be younger but you need parental consent) again this is becaue it is accepted that youths do not have the mental maturity to vote for themselves, and in order to join the military you do need some sort of physicall strength and 18 is the age most people stop growing so that would be one reason why you need to be 18 in order to join the military. In the US you need to be 21 to buy alcohol, again becaue of mental maturity.

So although you made a very well written post showing that you have a degree of mental strength the reason you are not allowed into the 16+ section is not because people here are discriminating against you it is because socitey as a whole believes that you are not mentally or emotionally mature enough to veiw that material... end rant.
What I should have said was...Nothing!
