maybe distance isn't what matters dean, maybe it's one person caring about another so much that they don't want to lead them on under false pretences

i thought about this thread last night, and i realised that the question is sort of misleading. there is a HUGE difference between long distance love and long distance relationships, and even then, looking into the different types of love and the different types of relationships, there is still a major difference in which ones work and which ones don't.
there are so many things we take for granted in our friends that we can hold, touch, lend a shoulder to cry on. we seem to assume that they'll always be there for us, right till then end, and that's why when they do hurt us we feel a loss. what most people seem to forget is that behind a screen, behind words, behind an IM screen or a forum page, there are real people with real feelings. the long distance friendships and relationships we create should be treated with the same respect and attitude that we treat our 'real-life' friends with.
so, in conclusion, there should be no difference whatsoever in short distance love and long distance love, yet we choose their to be by altering ourselves and our actions regarding those who are there infront of us in person and those who are there infront of us in other forms.

I agree. Long distance can work.....
but only if you're willing to put the work into it.
