To clarify: The 8GB 3G model (latest, sold in Apple stores right now) is the 2G model rebranded as 3G. The actual 3G iPod Touches (an iTouch is not a product) are the 32GB and 64GB; these are the ones with the updated processors and such. ONLY the 3G 8GB (the rebranded 2G) with it's model number starting with MC (Settings -> General -> About) is tethered. The rest are untethered.
