Quote from H4X0R: “Im trying a combo...loosing some weight and gaining muscle...is that possbile?” For beginners, yes. If you're already lean though you might want to just suck it up and gain weight. And want a simple and easy workout routine? A: 3x5 Squat 3x5 Bench 3x5 Row B: 3x5 Deadlift 3x5 OHP 3x5 Pullups (ideally weighted, if you can't add weight just do 3 sets to failure) Do this 3x a week alternating ABA BAB.

  • You're 125 freaking lbs, cut the "I want to work out arms/upper chest/etc." crap and realise you're gonna need a program that works your whole body.

  • Dude, you weigh less than 140 lbs. If you want to loook aesthetic you're gonna need to put on some muscle.

  • Quote from Chris MikGee: “This is not normally a good tip for a weight-gaining routine, but I just recommend you eat like a horse, with light exercise for a couple of weeks. Get a little bit of fat on your frame. Considering that you are SO skinny--even dangerously so--you could use some fat. Eat around 1000 calories more than you do now of nutrient rich foods and you should start feeling more energetic. I don't recommend that you get on a bulking routine immediately because you really are dange…

Your weight training should be something like full body or upper/lower or push/pull. None of this "i worked out my arms for 2 weeks" crap.

  • Quote from DeaExMachina: “Fixed for truth.” Meh, I barely even see grain-based foods like that as food anymore after having gone off them. Quote from DeaExMachina: “Also, I utterly disbelieve that stupid website about saturated fats not being bad for you. They obviously have never taken a chemistry course or they'd know why saturated fats aren't good for you. ” So what in a chemistry course says why it's bad for you? Quote from DeaExMachina: “Also, I don'tunderstand the idea of "whole grains suc…

  • What chevy said. Also whole grains suck nutritionally speaking, and all those vitamins and minerals are probably added anyway, in which case you essentially have the nutritional content of a bowl of sugar and a crappy multivitamin.

  • Push/Pull/Legs is an unnecessary amount of splitting it up. Your typical trainee probably shouldn't be doing more than a 2way split. Pick something that's either full body or a push/pull or upper/lower split.

I hope you're not still going zero fat.

  • Quote from Christopher: “Those things I agree with, and believe would be of great benefit. You have to understand my stance, which I'm not sure that you do. I agree that there are problems with the current way things are happening. I believe it is unreasonable to throw people in jail for their personal life choices, especially when they could be better served with treatment. I'm all for things like treatment instead of incarceration and the distribution of sterile needles. For me to fully accept…

  • Quote from Christopher: “Of course, liberties are important, but I don't think the legalization of hard drugs is a good thing. I believe the legalization of marijuana would do quite enough to unclog prisons and take the strain off of law enforcement. I just don't see the practicality of it. Even if these drugs were legal, the only way I wouldn't be upset with it is if it was strictly controlled and regulated. I wouldn't mind seeing an experiment, to see if it could work. And if it doesn't, bam, …

The healthcare system is one of the most important systems we have. A policy's affect on that system absolutely must be taken into consideration.” Though like I said, I disagree with the whole concept of government healthcare, so I'm not about to oppose drug legalisation becaus…

    Anarcho-capitalist.

  • Quote from Christopher: “You still have to take into consideration the potential strain legalization might put on the healthcare system. People who would get addicted to these drugs probably won't have health insurance, creating a big mess where the hospitals and treatment centers are paying out of pocket. I made the point a few posts above that the strain might not be that great due to the amount of people who actually use hard drugs (which isn't that many), but it could go either way. There's …

  • Quote from DamnImGood: “No. Has nothing to do with context. You used a pronoun and I'm not sure which noun it's referring to. I'm assuming it's the government, but I'm not sure, because the sentence isn't clear. You could have just answered the question.” Good job.

Quote from tethys: “milk---- no because milk products are only the burden to your body, and you don't want that after workout...” Burden to your body? lolwut? Also; THIS THREAD IS ABOUT NUTRITIONAL VALUE, NOT WHAT ANY OF YOU MAY PREFER ON THE BASIS OF TASTE

  • Quote from Kaitlin: “i'd eat a big mac as a reward for working out” I hope you're joking. Quote from DeaExMachina: “Fruit is most definitely the best thing after a work out. Water can often be bad causing salt imbalances and you should stick towards fruit juices if you want a drink after a work out. For those all important after work out electrolytes I've been told that coconut is the best source, but most fruits are the way to go.” Only they have esssentially zero protein content.
