Quote from Esmo: “Thanks, RMG, although I think Teenhut suffers from a comparatively small politicised British contingent on Teenhut compared to those of the USA or Australia. But I'm undecided as yet so I'll come back with more thoughts, I'm sure.” I think there are more UK people here than Australians?

Quote from Esmo: “ If I was voting, then the Liberal-Nationals don't appeal to me. I'd probably vote Labor.” I would probably have done the same IF they hadn't fucked up the home insulation programme, the "education revolution" which failed epicly, their lax border patrol policies and their annoying internet censorship plight It seems that the only things that the Liberal-Nationals can come up with is more negative hate but I am still willing to vote Labor in other areas- for example in the next…

Quote from rmg126: “I thought you hated him and want him out? :o” I do, mainly because of the internet censorship AND I can't stand the way it speaks... its embarrassing Quote from Esmo: “What's the nature of your health reform debate? If I was voting, then the Liberal-Nationals don't appeal to me. I'd probably vote Labor.” I believe (in VERY simple terms) that Rudd wants to seize control of the health systems from the states as he promised that he would do, and take away 30% of their GST revenu…

The election I think is planned for September 2010, but the actual date hasn't been announced. To me, the big election issues seem to be this health reform and Rudd's lax immigration policies. To be honest, I think Abbott has a chance. Rudd has NOT performed to what people expected him to do, and he has made several major mistakes in his first 3 years of government. And with some of the state Labor govts on the backburner, people I think don't trust the Labor party as much as they used to. They …

What I want to know is how he is even getting it through! I thought the MPs in the Senate were all dead against it? The people of Victoria have a duty to the nation to make sure this dickhead loses his place in the Senate the next time he is up for reelection :p Quote from Stephen Conroy: ““Why is the internet special?,” he asked, saying the net was “just a communication and distribution platform”. “This argument that the internet is some mystical creation that no laws should apply to, that is a…

Quote from Aannddyy: “Stephen Conroy is a cunt.” +1 Ages ago on youtube I found a vid of a debate between the Liberal Communications Minister (can't remember her name) and Mr Conroy, before they won the election. She said the Liberals had their own model, a voluntary filter available for parents (can't remember if it would be for free or not) and was more aimed at protecting kids. She shat all over any argument Mr Conroy could come up with, it was hilarious.

Seriously, what is the point in spending $42bn making a fibre optic internet network which is probably going to be built when hell freezes over, but OK fast internet = good. But why then make it SLOWER, back to the current levels, if not worse, by putting a blanket censor at ISP level on all internet traffic? It's like building an expressway but shoving in speeding humps!

This guy is so arrogant, I wish he would just shut up and go away. People don't want censored internet- THIS ISN'T CHINA!!!!! Get your mittens off our already slow internet  Quote: “Web experts recoiled today at communications minister Stephen Conroy's assertion that the internet is not "special" and should be censored like books, films and newspapers. In an on-camera interview with Fairfax Media's national Canberra bureau chief, Tim Lester, Senator Conroy dismissed the torrent of criticism…
