I got braces when I was 13-14ish, had them until I was 18, they hurt at first, but stop hurting after awhile. I had to have some thing that would expand my upper jaw, I had to tighten something every day. I don't know if you'll have to do that. But imo they only bothered me after they tightened them.

I've asked 3 girls out in my lifetime, and all 3 have declined.
