Aliens. Aliens came first. Now, they laugh at us trying to figure out the answer to this stupid question.

Quote from s0.[misunderstood];2672005: “So true on everything you said! High school has gone by SO FAST! I feel like it was yesterday when I walked through the doors of my high school. Nurses are a true inspiration to me (my mom is an LPN in a nursing home) and I know for sure that I wanna work with the babies! Yale is a nice school, I would be worried about the cost more than anything. And I guess I'm just gonna take some campus tours and what not. Have you taken the SAT? ” Oh yeah, the costs o…

Hey! I'm a rising senior too! Doesn't everything seem to have rushed up all the sudden? I've had my mind set on Yale for a while now, but we'll see about that  I have a friend that wants to be a nurse, and I think that anyone who goes into the field of nursing is a real hero. When it comes to college, I think you should choose somewhere you think you'll be most comfortable. Consider how far from home you'd be willing to go and how big of an institution you are comfortable with. Remember: e…

Quote from dannehgorawr: “The Yanks had their faults. They abused the Southern economy- killed the agrarian ways of the States- and pushed that industrialism was the only way, and that it should be favored. ” I agree here. Let's not forget that the line wasn't so clearly drawn between the North and South in terms of "good guys" and "bad guys". Quote from dannehgorawr: “ State's rights isn't screamed? Do you listen to your politicians on any argument of national laws? ” But they wouldn't be screa…

Quote from Quitethejoke: “I say screw society be you. If you view it as gay then it'll be gay if you don't it wont.” This is true. It's funny whenever someone says "you're gay if you do that". I was under the impression that the only thing that made you gay is if you were attracted to people of the same gender.

  • Quote from rmg126: “ I don't particularly care about chickens being in cages...they're chickens. I think as humans we should be more concerned about our fellow humans who are dying in wars right now.” This is probably the best thing I've ever read.

Living in the South for most of my life and knowing many people who display the Confederate flag with pride, I can see why they do it. For one, they were raised to believe that the Confederate flag represents them. They are raised to be proud of being a redneck. Considering the historical aspect, I find it rather distasteful to display the symbol of a time when America was nearly torn apart. I just sincerely hope that they don't ALL think that the South will rise again...

Depending on the institution you attend, you may be able to double major or major and minor. Maybe you can pick the one you are leaning more towards and take a second one as a minor. You can thoroughly explore your major without sacrificing the experience of your second choice. Even if you choose to study law or psychology, you might still be able to find time in your schedule to take courses in photography. Of course, you'll have to choose either way if you decide to go on to graduate school fo…

Wow, I can't believe this thread is still around. Well, I've changed my mind in the meantime: now I want to study Biomedical Engineering.

  • I agree with the previous posts, but I would also check to see if your school offers credit recovery or summer courses that you can take to make up the grades. It will take more work outside of your normal schedule, but it may be worth finding out if that's an option. Good luck!

  • Quote from rmg126: “No. The RIAA and MPAA are greedy corporations that are being given wayyyyy too much power already. Seriously, get off my internet.” But if pirating continues, those poor executives will be forced to live on the streets! Have a heart!

  • Quote from Lachlan: “So wait, it's illegal to use P2P software?” Technically, it's already illegal to use P2P software to share files that you don't have permission to share, such as copywritten works and protected music. That really limits it to... what...? Creative Commons music and self-made tracks? At this point, however, I doubt that the creators of P2P software actually think their software is being used for legitimate, legal file sharing. Hence, Congress attempts to stick its nose into it…

  • Quote from DamnImGood: “And making it illegal to even enter the search words into a search engine is astounding. I hope this bill fails. ” Oh, it most certainly will. Even if by some bizarre miracle it does pass, it will be bogged down and overturned in the courts, considering that it creates penalties before one actually commits the crime. Quote from Zen: “Your poll confuses me.” I agree, it is strangely worded.
