All that matters is that you don't rush into anything. Test the waters, or so to speak. I play piano and I find Mozart's sonata's to be light and fun to play. Ill often play Mozart's sonatas as a warm up before I play the music that I am practicing or performing, typically Rachmaninoff or Liszt or Alkan(a romantic French composer who I would very very highly recommend).
