  • Quote from Dr.Carter: “It's an inherent belief to being a creationist, and that's why they all deserve derision.” While I normally hold your opinions in high regard, I must say that I am strongly against this statement. It is generalizing and, quite frankly, rude to declare that all creationists are to be the object of ridicule. Believing in creationism does not automatically equal an "inherent" belief that all science is wrong. Perhaps there are some creationists that do hold that belief, and t…

Quote from amando96: “Dude Both my parents are around 5'1'', i'm getting close to 6'1'', i used to drink loads of milk, don't know if it's related, but i definitely am very tall considering my parents.” Genetic inheritance isn't that simple. Just because your parents are short or tall doesn't mean you will be the same. While it's true that short or tall parents are more likely to have offspring of the same relative height, you are also more likely to be closer to the average height than your par…

Height, unfortunately, is not something that can be heavily influenced by your behaviors. How tall someone is going to be is determined mostly by genetics. A person with short parents is more likely to be short, but closer to the average height. However, if you are still young, you may have not reached your maximum height.

  • Quote from Zen: “I guarantee you every intelligent poster in this thread is well aware of this. Creationists do not have the greatest reputation however due to their ignorance and disregard for scientific progress.” I think this qualifies as lumping, Zen. I kind of get what you mean, though. I think a more valid statement would be: "Creationists do not have the greatest reputation due to the ignorance and disregard for scientific progress exhibited by their most outspoken representatives.

  • Well, you can't always get everyone to use your services. I'm not sure what currency you're using, but 40 compared to 100 does seem like a good deal. As far as finding more clients, you may want to try telling your friends and family to spread the word or post the opportunity online. If you want to cut down on false leads (people who sound interested, but end up changing their mind) you may want to post the price on your notices instead of saying "amazing prices". If there are any community cent…

  • Quote from DeaExMachina: “ At this point when the last particle that creates what we consider the universe is consumed the universe will have ended, however the mass will go critical and explode into the big bang and the universe will start. ” I think DeaExMachina does a good job of explaining where the so-called "point" from which the Big Bang originated comes from. As with any theory, the big bang theory is one that will be constantly refined and amended or possibly even thrown out, should new…

  • Paid to survey/email read/etc. sites can be a good way to have a little extra spending money, but beware which site you choose. Remember that these sites are not an alternative for a job because of the relatively low payout rates. If you are in the US, a small PO box can run you about $60 a year. You really should only do this with your parent's permission. Here are some tips for making the best of paid-to sites: First, you should always check the terms and conditions for the minimum age and req…

Straight Preference You scored 16 (-52 being completely gay, 0 being bisexual, and 52 being completely straight) You are not exclusively heterosexual, but you prefer the opposite sex over the same sex. While you might be willing to fool around with the same sex to some extent, you would go all the way with the opposite sex. If you are sexually inexperienced, it is possible that this could change after you do some experimenting. --- I wonder what they mean by tingly feeling...?
