I think, you can ask the hairstylist about what haircut would suit you. That's what I usually do.

I did it twice cass, nothing happened to me so i guess it's fine. I used an alcohol. I did not use a needle though,I used a safety pin instead coz I'm more comfortable with it.

lately I usually have home service when I/we want have my hair cut,coz the hairstylist that I really like has no salon , so my mother just texts him ( btw,he's a gay ) or whenever he happens to visit his friends near where I live and timing we want a haircut we just tell him to come over our house ... it only costs like 30-50 php it's just 1 USD or so...
