  • Quote from BadaBing: “Everyone's gay after 8 pints ” Real discussion plz?

  • Honestly, as libertarian as I come off as being when it comes to a lot political issues, I don't know how I feel about the harder drugs being decriminalized or even legalized. Being someone who's going into the healthcare field, I look at it from that perspective. Sure, economically, we would reap a lot of benefits from taxing the use of these drugs. Or will we? Always question your best assumption. In my search to find some statistics, I ended up only finding very old statistics. Nevertheless, …

  • Quote from Scaredycrow: “It seems like the big thing in coffee advertising right now is the fact that it's fair-trade, it seems a lot of places are picking up on it and I see the term quite a bit now. I think it's good thing they're doing it and if they keep increasing the percentage of fair trade coffee they purchase, all the better. I make all my coffee at home (Tim Horton's fine grind!) because it'd get way too expensive to actually go out and just buy a cup of it every day. There's only one …

I really dig Eminem. When he's serious, I think it's amazing. I don't think he's the best, I don't know who's the best if there is a best. I don't know enough rappers.

  • I don't see that happening.

  • Quote from xNerRadx: “But if we don't appear tough that's grounds for us to be attacked again (let's not forget they missed their main target, the white house). And if their military was strong enough they might have tried an invasion. If invading them was wrong then I don't want to be right.” It's possible to be tough without doing unnecessary things. I don't think it was a good idea in retrospect because it escalated into a bigger problem. Like I said, we can be tough by making our security he…

  • Quote from xNerRadx: “You're saying we should've sat and done nothing but mourn? Wouldn't that have made us look like bitches?” It's not about looking tough, it's about doing what's right. However, right and wrong are subjective. I believe many were diluted into believe that it was the right thing to do, I believe it wasn't in retrospect. I personally believe we should've spent all that money on securing our borders, and beefing up homeland security to prevent future attacks. I've believe in pre…

  • Quote from DamnImGood: “I think homosexuality is a naturally occurring phenomenon in nature for the purpose of population control. What causes it, I don't know, but I lean towards genetics. Perhaps a gay gene, or a combination of genes, or some genes that create predisposition for it. It's been observed throughout the animal kingdom. No gay gene has ever been found, but 100 years ago there were no genes. Who knows what we'll discover.” I'll have to concur. The genetic aspects of it make more sen…

  • Quote from DamnImGood: “Terrorism is definitely overplayed in North America. I've said it before and I'll say it again: 9/11 worked in favour of the United States. It created a sense of nationalism and unity. As George Carlin simply put it, "It takes a tragedy for us to care for one another". It rallied the country as whole and was easily the sole reason the majority of people supported the invasion of Afghanistan, and to a lesser extent, Iraq. 9/11 is unquestionably the launching pad for the Wa…

  • I get into some heated arguments with people, but I've never tried to get on any debate team. It's something I'd like, but with classes I don't think I'd have the time. I have a lot of respect for debaters, it's a tough thing to do.

  • Hold on before you click back, this isn't about gay marriage. I'm sure that's been beaten into the ground on here in my absence. This one is a bit juicier and closer to home (for some). Let's talk about causation. First a few things. First and foremost. Homosexuality and bisexuality are NOT mental disorders. They haven't been disorders since the 70's. Doctors, shrinks, and psychiatrists have brightened up, and have realized that they shouldn't be classified as such. If you think they are, then y…

  • Quote from DamnImGood: “The Special Senate Committee on Illegal Drugs reported that it wasn't a gateway drug. I guess us Canadians just like to enjoy the grass and nothing else.” Actually, looking back now, it wasn't the APA that said that. I retract that statement. Honestly, I'm not sure about my view on this. If Canada says it isn't, then I'm going with that. :p[/QUOTE]

    Libertarianism ftw.

  • Quote from Aannddyy: “No one is saying weed is harmless, because it's not. But it's only a soft drug compared to many other legal drugs on the market.” Oh I know, I'm just saying that there are people out there who will argue vehemently that marijuana is completely without demerits. I smoked weed long enough to know that it is very, very soft. The main problem with it is it's ability to promote the onset of mental illness. One thing these kids don't understand is something called the diathesis-s…

I don't know. You tell me: Pro-Choice Pro-Gun Regulation Pro-Euthanasia Pro-Medical Marijuana Pro-Marijuana Taxation Pro-Death Penalty Drinking age should be 18 Anti-War Proponent of Fair Trade Pro-LGBT Rights Pro-Legalization of Prostitution Anti-Abstinence Economically, I'm not sure. I'm for capitalism tentatively, I need to do more political research. Someone please tell me where all this puts me, I would really like to put something real in my political viewpoints box on Facebook. :p

  • Kewl. Yeah. Honestly, there are people who are pro-marijuana who read a few articles off of Erowid and think they know everything. Usually around 16 years old, believe the government is out to get them, and the only way for them to practice civil disobedience is to smoke as much weed as they can in their room in their parents' house. These kids are easy to spot. Because they use the same arguments over and over again, such as: -No one has ever died of marijuana (True, unless you factor in mariju…

  • Is my post not important enough?

  • Quote from xNerRadx: “Right. But we already have issues with abusers. Why make more?... ” Personally, I believe the people who will abuse it under a regulated model are the ones who will abuse it now. Those who will begin to smoke it will be every day people with no knowledge of the underground marijuana culture. Honestly, they're probably a lot more responsible (not to generalize negatively against marijuana users). They would probably regulate their use along the same lines as their alcohol co…

  • Although my opinion on the subject is fairly well known on here, I'll reiterate by saying that I believe marijuana can be safely taxed and regulate. Safely meaning the world isn't going to fall apart. Of course you're going to have your abusers, but we don't impose silly laws on the many alcohol consumers out there because of the negative behaviors of alcoholics.

  • This whole thread is stupid. There isn't any real debate here. But, to stay on the topic of it, I honestly don't care if there's a God or not. I've got more important things to worry about, and to do on my Sunday mornings.
