As a Christian i think masturbation is a SIN and as such punishable by God. I therefore choose not to do it, its hard because the temptation is there and i did it for a few years in early teens and enjoyed it but i serve God and i knew i had to stop so i can't ever masturbate again. i get grounded a lot, its not fun but usually i deserve it so i can't complain. i don't want to seem harsh but i think you deserved to be grounded and 1 month is not so bad, i was grounded for 3 months once and that was really bad. And 17 isn't too old for parents to ground their children not if he/she still lives with them, they can punish us if we don't obey their rules.
