I've heard of stories like that as well. What I don't actually know is if the religion straight up doesn't allow them to get medical care, or if they just opted to try faith healing and disregard the medical care available for some unknown reason. That aside, I don't know why a religion wouldn't allow someone to seek medical care - if some kind of God made us, and made us smart enough to develop medicine, why wouldn't we be able to use it? (Exactly as LuklaAdvocate said) Why would your god punis…

  • I posted in the "People you hate" topic that I disliked people who think hunting is wrong and yet still eat meat. It got some people talking I guess, but instead of continuing off-topic there, I thought I'd take it here... Quote: “I think hunting is wrong and cruel, but I still eat meat. It's one thing to consume an animal to survive, even if it's purchasing it at the grocery store, and another to go out into the wilderness and kill something for fun. And don't come back with "We eat it, too!" G…

  • Quote from Neal: “So if I did not choose to be single or did not choose to lose my virginity, I am therefore destined to be forever single or forever a virgin? Sorry, but I'm an atheist.” Ah, I guess my post wasn't clear enough -- my apologies. I was only saying if destiny exists, yada yada yada... I'm really getting at that I believe it's a choice, not "destiny".

Quote from DeaExMachina: “While the sentiments of the previous posters are merit-able they're also inherently wrong. The term "clothes make the man" is a perfectly reasonable phrase as it effects how you feel about yourself, what others preconceptions of you will be and how you interact in your daily life. Everything from how you're treated in school to whether or not you are able to get a job are all determined by your physical appearance. Some people may call such sentiments shallow, but in tr…

  • Watching a movie is always classic, if you ever get bored of that, you could: -Go for a walk, to a park, maybe feed some ducks. -Go play on a playground (more fun at night!) -Instead of going out for supper, cook a meal together at home. You can use what you have or shop for stuff on sale at the grocery store, which is super fun too. -Play cards, or video games, or board games - competition is fun haha. Maybe the loser has to do whatever the other wants them to :p -Any other cheap attractions/th…

  • Cute stories! It's more weird and random that my boyfriend met at all, but once we did we just hung out a lot and became really close. We kissed and went on little dates the time, it was pretty much like we dating before it was even official. One day he said he had a surprise for me and then later asked me (officially) to be his girlfriend. Yay!

  • Quote from Dr.Carter: “I don't pretend to know what DamnImGood is thinking, but the way I see it is that by using a quantitative measure, eventually you will have to assign an arbitrary value to certain behavior. There's no objectivity in what constitutes the value of negative behavior, no universal units by which to measure them. ” I've only taken introductory psychology courses, but one of the things that was stressed to us in these courses is the importance of determining and setting up clear…

Like isitso said, why even try and contain yourself to a style at all? Just because I like country music doesn't mean I dress like a cowboy. Just go to the mall and look in a few different stores, then try on stuff you like, and you'll find your own style. I don't know how old you are, but something to consider: When you get older and go to university or get a more professional jobs it sucks if you only have immature teenage clothes. It's hard to define what that is but if you start getting a fe…

  • That's good to hear! (Not the crying, the love for country haha). Country music is the shizzzz.

  • I'm sure that would be a fine first job. My first job was at a convenience store that sold subs and ice cream treats and it was great. I know people who have worked at dairy queen and they don't mind it, especially since lots of other people the same age generally work there too!

  • Man, a warm bath sounds sooo good right now... I'm generally a calm person, but a glass of water, drawing something, reading, or taking a nap all work wonders.

  • Quote from Neal: “I think what he is really saying is being single forever. ” Agreed, though he hasn't specified that was my point too - one could be single for most of their life, but that doesn't mean they're "alone." Quote from diotem: “I love how people assume its a choice. Its not a choice. There are people who try and try again to find that someone and fail each and every time. For once, I'm not even talking about myself, though I feel I've fallen into that. I've seen people who are 30, 40…

  • People tell me that my sisters and I look alike but I'm not so sure. There's resemblance but it's not that close. They look like some of my cousins more than they look like me!

    1. Does anything inspire you to read? Not really. Just the fact that I enjoy it, I guess. 2. What genre do you like to read? Mainly fantasy/adventure type books, but I'll read anything. 3. Do you like to read or write more? Read, for sure. 4. What would you like to read? I'd like to read more "self help"/inspirational types of books. I don't really need them but I think they're interesting. 5. If you wrote your own story what would it be about? I probably wouldn't, but likely about a hermit that…

  • I'm very much the same, or at least I try to be! I'm not sure this would be the best example of how teenagers interact because some of the stuff asked or posted here would undoubtedly not normally be openly said. (Normally. There are always exceptions, haha.) I know kids that were homeschooled and they're generally not that hard to relate with, once you get to know each other and are comfortable hanging out. I like the suggestion of joining a sports team (even a rec sport, where you don't have t…

  • I wouldn't say destined - though some people may choose to be alone forever. I don't think it's sad either, just because you don't have a significant other doesn't mean you're "alone". Your friends and family could fill that void. Two of my teachers in high school are in their late 50ies and never married, and they are perfectly happy. I also have a friend who thinks they'll never get married, they haven't given up or resigned themselves to "fate", they just don't think it would be right for the…

  • Quote from Batgirl: “Here's mine.” Haha, yours is epic. Very Gaga. Rascal Flatts seems pretty random, though! :o Here's mine: It's mainly from my "Sleepy" playlist. Everyone else has such high play counts! I prefer CD's so I don't use my computer very often. Otherwise, there'd be a lot most Josh Turner in that list. top25.jpg

  • Don't do it. If what you want is a relationship, and you want to be true to it, then don't cheat. You'll just end up feeling guilty and it's not fair to your girlfriend. It's great that you want to be loyal.
