Summer is a season, just like any of the others. While I'm happy to have the day to rest, I'd much rather be productive.

    Zen - - General Advice

Hello, everyone. I've been diagnosed with GAD (General Anxiety Disorder) for quite some time, and its beginning to conflict with my spirituality. I try to get up early, but the huge amounts of fatigue that come with being stressed cause me to be lazy. I often wake up and let myself sleep for another hour or two, no matter how much sleep I get. When I was on prescription medicines for my condition, I was waking up extra early and had plenty of extra time in the day. Now, its like I sleep my life …

I tend to get my news from CNN, which upsets my peers as I live in Georgia. Believe it or not, my conservative friends tend to enjoy Fox news more, and bash anything unrelated. My civics teacher last year told me that all news stations are biased, but the most neutral news station was Fox. I barely stifled the laugh that followed.

  • I, personally, will never partake in either of these activities because they are detrimental to my mind, however, I hold absolutely nothing against those who choose to drink or smoke. It is their choice, and if they want to do something, and accept the responsibility that comes with their actions, more power to them.

Tattoos are not, at least, from what I've seen to be true, as cruel as cutting.

  • I'm a Korean-American, and I can't help but laugh over the idle threats of DPRK. The day they even think to try anything will be a bad one for them.

  • I apologize.

  • I am by no means implying that I dislike the concept of being "SxE" but from what I've seen of those who are, they flaunt it as if they are better than others.

Do not dwell on the past, nor the future. Do not worry about what could be or should be. Notice what is. Take action. Change your present. Play more sports. Join a rec team if you wish to get more involved. I, too, suffer from acne and acne scars. No one notices or cares. The reason why is because I don't really "notice" or care. I won't tell you the usual routine people tell you. "You'll meet a girl one day who loves your personality." That would be cheating you out of some real advice. All I c…

I did not bother bringing it up. I let them ask first. That way, if they had their concerns, they could work them out before confronting me or with little shock.

I believe tattoos and the like are acceptable, but to purposely mutilate yourself for the sake of vanity is unnecessary.

  • But its common sense. How can you take pride in that?

  • I've read most of this book (my former closest companion was a Laveyan Satanist) and it is quite an interesting read. I was turned off by the selfishness, but I understood the points they were making. It was reasonable, to say the least.

  • I am confused by the idea behind being straight edge. Taking pride in abstaining from negative things? I consider that common sense.

  • I don't know if everyone considers Buddhism a religion, but I do my best to stick to the Middle Path, and if I screw up, I simply make up for it. Does that put me in a .1%?

  • This girl and I hung out quite a bit since I posted this. We now hold a mutual interest in each other. I suppose it just took a little nudge. Thanks for everyone's contributions.

  • Quote from AeroShadow: “You probably have what's called 'nice guy syndrome'. It sucks, there's a sticky topic in this forum about it. Anyways, if you're always coming across as the best friend...read this book. I've read it, and its pretty awesome. It's titled "No More Mr. Nice Guy" by Robert A. Glover. Amazon has it, but I can't post links yet.” That seems fairly accurate. Thank you for your contribution. I will look into it.

  • Hello, friends from Teenhut. I have come to you all expressing a problem I'm experiencing. As of late, I grew an interest in a girl. She holds the same interests as me, and I've even come to admire her tenacity and intelligence. She is truly a brilliant person. However, upon my confession of the affection I held for her, she in turn told me she would continue to only think of me as a friend. I'm going to be honest. This kind of situation is all too familiar with me. It didn't bother me at first,…
