Yup, a teacher does help a lot. But I disagree about the tab-thing. Tabs are convenient and stuff, but you shouldn't rely on them too much. Learn to read music or learn songs by ear. And keep challenging yourself. And it actually is best to start on acoustic, though. And it doesn't matter whether you want to play technical metal (yay!) or some simple chords. Everyone needs the basics!

Do you prefer the LOTR movies or books? Hard to choose, imo. But I prefer the books. The books are more extensive and I like the fact that books don't have images, so there's a lot to leave to your own fantasy. It's a shame Tom Bombadil isn't in the movies! However I understand that they didn't include him, for he actually doesn't contribute anything to the story line.

The Lord Of The Rings trilogy! I actually don't like watching movies that much, though. (Am I some sort of, like, heretic now? xD)
