.tk websites

Just another domain in my opinion. All .tk websites I've seen a all crap and pointless junk, but I'd blame the owner, not the domain.
-
Yeah, mine won't be much better...
But no security or anything problems right? -
The .tk domain is notorious for being used by spammers and scammers due to very lenient laws in whatever country it originates from (I forget.) Just having a website with the .tk domain won't cause any harm, but keep in mind that more tech-savvy users aren't going to click on a .tk link (and won't visit your site) because of its notorious reputation. I'd say just use .com.
-
I'll use .com eventually, of course, i'd go with the cheaper alternative, but if it mean less traffic...
what's a good .com domain provider?
Heard godaddy is pretty bad. -
GoDaddy is complete shit. Use 1and1.
-
They charge extra for domain privacy, which is against some rules, they also spam-a-lot.
Do I have to host it with them to get a .com or .net domain, can't i just pay for .com domain and keep hosting at webs(where i currently have my site). -

You can keep your current hosting. I think you will need to change the nameservers. -
If you're buying a .tk domain - you're doing it wrong.
But yes, go with a TLD (.com, .net, etc) if you can afford it. GoDaddy is very cheap but their web hosting is no-go.I shall stay with you, not until the end, but always.

Visit namepros, you can earn virtual points by doing things for members and then buy a .com domain (as well as hosting) with those points
-
It's pretty poor but it's free
PM me to know more.

I don't mind paying 10$ a year, that's nothing, but if there was a free, just as good alternative i'd go with it, but if it means less traffic, it's a nono

The country you're looking for is Tokelau. It's a South Pacific Island nation(:[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

You would know. -
If you're serious about it, use .com. Dot tk is only for those who don't think their websites are worth the $12 buck a year for a dot com. And scammers, spammers etc
-
Right now it's not worth much, 70 ish visits per day and an average of 40 seconds spent there each Lol.
must write moar articles, will buy a proper .com, or .net domain when the site is better. -
.com, and like I said, try namepros.
-
I trust namecheap.com
They even gave me credit to buy 2 domains (I won this trivia thing) but I'm still using a sub domain so yeah. Definitely don't use that .tk thing. I've never seen a decent website with that extension. And don't they put that hideous banner on top?
Back a few years ago I used .co.nr and it was free but people say that that doesn't work anymore. There's more to living than being alive -
co.cc is the best free alternative.
