Nintendo shit is overpriced

They arguably (or at least in my opinion) have the best current gen console but they're pricing is ridiculous. One of the reasons I bought the system was because I thought it was gonna be cheaper than the other two.

Is the console cheaper? Yes.
Are the new games cheaper? Yes.

Something that really bothers me though, is the fact that they NEVER lower the price of their first party games. I went to go buy Mario Kart Wii today (released years ago) and it was still over $50.

Another thing that's dumb is the remote system. I also bought a classic controller pro so I could play 2 player for now on Mario Kart but you can't even plug it into the Wii. You need another Wii remote to plug it into, which now all come with the Wii Motion Plus Accessory and cost you another $50.

It's ridiculous.

In my opinion, you're better off just buying a PS3 or Xbox 360 since both of those consoles now have more advanced motion controller technology than the Wii.

Kinect and Playstation Move are still more advanced than the Wii remotes, but everyone has different tastes, of course. Personally, the whole "controller free" thing for the 360 has my vote.

Don't get me wrong, I think the Wii is fantastic, but it's no longer the outright king of motion-control gaming.

Wii has the Motion Plus accessory that goes on the bottom of the wii mote to enable you to control in basically any direction. Still the same basic concept but it's A LOT smoother and more realistic feeling.

Even if Nintendo updates their motion functionality, it still is just a load of gimmicky children's games, and fun party games to play as a joke. I don't think any games worth playing on that console use the motion features, or need updates for it. Kinect might not take off for hardcore gamers immediately, but I feel like it will. That's something the Wii has had years to work on, but Nintendo decided that they're Nintendo, so no matter what they do, children will still buy their products.

You can buy really cheap nintendo knock offs from ebay, that work just as well.

nintendo = 19.99€
ebay = 5$ = 3.9€(used to be less euros)

Nintendo's games are great for the family, but I dare say with the new motion detection, the 360 will conquer (more-so than the PS3) that market too.

Yeah, there's no doubt I see why they're doing it, but it would be a lot more loyal and fair to their fans if they dropped the price of their first party games after a year or two.

I noticed this myself. It's a bit odd that Super Mario Galaxy (released in 2007) and Super Mario Galaxy 2 (released in 2010) are both $49.99 and sit right next to each other on the shelf. I remember seeing another game (forget the title) that was also $50 and came out in 2006. An equivalent game on the 360 or PS3 would be $19.99 or even cheaper by now. :nono:

I was just about to say that about the Super Mario Galaxy. I mean no one is going to be the 1st game for the same price of the 2nd game if the 2nd game is better.

Can't see kinect being successful because of the fact that most family gamers already have a wii and the wii has a better selection of games for families than the xbox. Yes some of the games on the wii are very childish and gimmicky but there are still some great titles released on it.

I'd still like to play the first before the second though, saying as they're pretty similar and I'd want the experience to last longer.

While Super Mario Galaxy got like a 9, so it is better. Even Yahoo.com said it was better. I mean if they say it you know its true.

Actually, this whole "Kinect" and "Move" thing Microsoft and Sony try to promote so hard are nothing more than rip offs. PS eye and Wii anyone? Sure, the technology is more advanced, but Nintendo has a royal fanbase and a history of good treatment of its fans. Plus, I have not seen anything worth the money on neither Kinect nor Move. Kinectimals?Sorcerery? Microsoft and Sony are going to have to pull something out of their sleeves if they want to draw anyone into buying these things.
