I've wrestled for around 6 years and I've reaped the benefits of it by gaining confidence, the ability to defend myself, a sweet body, and tons of friends/brothers. I want to hear from others about their experiences with Wrestling or other sports and the benefits they've gotten from them

I've trained in MMA for a while, and I got the benefits of confidence, ability to defend myself both standing and in the ground ,and a fit body. I am not that fit anymore, but I'll get up there again soon...

I think the applicability of wrestling to self defense depends a lot on the situation at hand. Sure if it's just one on one taking them to the ground is great, but if they have any mates around defending yourself with wrestling is a great way to get your head stomped in by 5 of their friends while you're still trying to choke them out or something.

I did wrestle for while a bit. But I have been doing MMA for longer and I think that MMA is better in many aspects compared all other sports.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]

ok so how about MMA!? LOLLL that owns, MMA would be better for defending yourself.. but i would LOVE to teach a girl wrestling if you know what i mean heheheh

I played football and soccer in high school which got me into shape and made me popular but, I was never really cut till I joined ROTC.

Wrestled for the first 2 years of high school and it was so much fun. Sure it's only 2 or 3, 3 minute rounds but it really is tiring as it works all your muscles. Training really whips you into shape to and if your trying to drop a weight class the dieting on top really makes you look good by the end of the year.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
