im curious, because I'm black as hell and all my friends give me heat because I don't listen to the popular, pop/hip-hop/rap music. Any blacks out there that listen to metal? or am I just REALLY REALLY rare? lol
is metal really 'white person' music

No.
I like R&B, and some my black friends like Lay Gaga, and Trapt, so music in general has no specific race, categorically speaking.Je voudrais pouvoir oublier le passé, oublier ce que j'ai vu et ce que j'ai fait, que j'ai rencontré et que j'aime. nope, i listen to metal and hate rap.
as yes...we are a rare breed... -
I believe all music can appeal to all races. It's just that a lot of people are brought up in certain upbringings that mold them into people that are just like a lot of the people that are around them.

your friends give you heat about what you listen to because they are dicks. dont listen to them, listen to what you want.
music isn't divided by race (aside from tribal music, etc.) metal isn't made for white people or black people, its made for people. if you like it, listen to it, and if you don't like it, find something else"I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind. I'd disagree with this as well; what do you mean by it?

i mean a circle of native americans beating drums and making smoke signals. I would consider that strictly cultural. other people can listen to it, but its really infrequent"I have heard there are troubles of more than one kind. I really don't see what race has to do with one's musical tastes.

well basically I live in an area where EVERYONE (and by everyone I mean black people) listens to Ke$ha, Miley Cyrus, Jay-Z, Mario (really? lol), etc. and I listen to Soilwork, Scar Symmetry, Daath. I'm the 2% of black population in my area that listens to anything outside of rap/hip-hop music. Its just like people believe the stereotype that is 'all black people listen to rap'The post was edited 1 time, last by MasterpieceMesias ().

You just acknowledged that stereotype as true though, and I can too...
We're the minority, by far in my experience.[SIGPIC][/SIGPIC]
