Weight Loss Tips

    • Re: Weight Loss Tips

lol I do no tknow how you can compare eating rice over other carbs to eating at mcdonalds. I am sure that the clinical precise and specialist way of eating you suggest would maybe help to lose fat quicker by maybe a few days, I do not know. But as I have said I was rather surprised at how fast I managed to lose weight by eating what I did, RICE on a DAILY basis was part of my diet seeing as I live in Thailand it is a staple. You rarely see over weight thai people as well, but with the influx of western food chains here now, you do see the odd few.

If you want me to keep discussing this so that you can keep proving your point, thus boosting your ego and reinforcing to yourself that you are right and that you are amazing, then by all means just say. I will be all too happy to help :)

And if you're gonna eat McDonalds regularly I'm sure they have certain menu items that are better than the others for you. Doesn't mean that reccommending said menu items is good advice for weight loss.

Aye, but you don't eat at McDonald's to lose weight.

I understand that grains are not optimal for weight loss but it doesn't excuse the fact that numerous studies have been done on whole vs white, that countless people have lost weight by simply switching to whole grains and watching their health a little more, and that grains still remain at the top of most food guides as the "biggest proportion".

Nor should you eat grains to lose weight.

And they found what? Tiny increases in fiber and micronutrient content?

Ultimately weight loss comes down to cals in vs. cals out. You could do that with any sort of food, and they fact people have done so with a certain food group doesn't mean that group is necessarily good for weight loss.

So what? Without any other compelling reason for their inclusion as the foundation of a diet that's just an appeal to authority, and authority that in the case of governments which put out those reccomendations, is typically in bed with grain growers.

People NEED carbs in their diet, or else they'd be misrable and go 'cheat' with cake, or something else to fill that need.

People only feel the "need" for carbs because the typical diet turns them into complete sugar junkies (and yes I'm blaming you RDI guidelines telling people to eat more sugar than protein or fat, let alone carbs). "Carbs" isn't some required food group.

There are many ways in which an individual can choose to lose weight. The problem is that diet, and exercise alone for some people still isn't enough, and may leave them struggling to reach their weight loss goals. For many people changing their diet, exercising, and taking nutritional supplements or weight loss products in combination can be the perfect answer to lose weight.

I see, what does your diet consist of exactly... Yea cardio is always the most boring and annoying in my opinion.

I disagree. If you find a cardio activity that is really fun ( boxing, soccer, MT, etc.) Cardio is the most entertaining part of working out.
Pumping Iron is boring and monotonous.

Frosty you do not understand Morgan's point.
She isn't saying whole wheat is magic or anything, she is saying it is just better.
Tiny increments in fiber and other stuff add up...
It's not a tiny increment if it's double of what the alternative has.

Instead of eating white rice, eat brown rice because it is better. Isn't that simple to understand?

And Carbs are good before a grueling workout. Some athletes need carbs to make it through their training sessions.

KFC might be better for weight loss than McDonalds, but you'd be foolish to recommend it as weight loss food.

When the original amount is as tiny as it is in processed grain, it is a tiny increment.

I understand, but I think it's silly to say this and give those looking to lose weight the impression that whole grains are good for weight loss, when really we should be recommending different foods entirely.

Your typical individual looking to lose weight is not an elite endurance athlete. so that's irrelevant.
