Is it weird that I don't WANT to have sex until I've moved out and have my own place?

I'm a 17 year old guy, turning 18 in a month. I've got a pretty good sex drive, it's pretty healthy, but I refuse to have sex with anybody until I've got my own place, which will probably be around when I'm 22 and am going away to Law School. I mean, when I get aroused I've always just gone and had a jerk, and it seems to work fine. I don't wanna risk teen pregnancies, or my religious parents getting mad, lol
But what I'm wondering is, will girls think it's weird when I'm 22 and still a virgin?

Many girls here will tell you that they will respect you and what not. But you gotta take into consideration that those girls that are giving you advice ALREADY had sex in their early age, being 14, 15, 16, 17, 18. Hell, even 13 or 12. Now you ask, will girls think you are weird and the answer is, YES. And it will affect you in the long run, because a guy who starts their sex in their early teens will have more experience in their twenties than someone who loses their virginity in their twenties. So basically, you will be weird and with no experience. And most girls like a guy with some experience. UNLESS YOU FIND ONE THAT IS JUST LIKE YOU AND NEVER HAD A GUY.

Uhh. You wouldn't have to necessarily make it a point to the girl? It doesn't take so much to learn how to, like, do it.

And you're years away from 22 right now. I wouldn't see this as an urgent concern, or something written in stone.

Dude, girls would definitely think it's weird. And unique and awesome (depending on why). If a girl sees a guy that can follow through his commitment even with the huge temptation of sex, they she'd think he's definitely a mature and unique guy. And that's what girls want in the long run. Don't worry about it!

I am going straight to the point and calling you Naive.

How did I come to this conclusion?
      1. You do not want to have sex because of your religious parents. Their opinion should not matter, especially when you will be "away", they won't even hear of it.
      2. You are still in high school, women in university will be much different. Believe me.
      3. University will be the only time in your lifetime, that there will be lots of opportunity, thousands of single women, take advantage of that opportunity before you regret for the rest of your life. Wanting something you knew you could have had.
      4. Who exactly are you refusing to have sex with? I doubt this statement. Besides, if you were in a loving relationship for a year, which is when anyone would have sex.., then you would have a totally different frame of mind.

Anyway, don't have a extremely naive high school opinion when you head off to university. Have an open mind and think about things when you get there, not before. Take Care

No. you aren't weird. I'm not going to have sex until I'm married, whenever that is. If I never get married then I shall die a virgin! Also, I have never had a relationship with anyone either. I've never kissed a girl, or seen one naked. I've never looked at porn. So if you're weird, I'm WEIRDER. lol And yes, I'm an 18 year old guy.

Dont listen to this person. Save it for who you want, it should be special not rushed.

Your perfectly fine in my eyes. I'm 17 now and still a virgin and perfectly happy with it. I'm not planning on having sex till i find the right guy. It's something special and you don't want to waste it on someone that you don't really care about. You can't expect to find the right person at our age and probably won't for a couple more years. So if thats how you feel, your not alone :)

Nope I don't see anything wrong with that, and I don't know any girls that would. They'd probably find that sweet and exciting! (A good majority will/not saying every girl will view it the same way). It's probably just as exciting for a girl to take a guy's virginity than it is for a boy to take a girl's virginity. Judging by the decency of the girl you should be fine
