What Aannddyy said.
And also, practice. Search for pictures of styles you like and try to do it on yourself. There's also tons of hair/makeup tutorials on youtube and all over the internet! -
I have found this site extremely helpful when I've needed ideas and suggestions with my make up.....Hope you do to.

ALL I CAN SAY IS, DON'T WEAR TOO MUCH MAKEUP. -
YOUTUBE will be your bestfriend in this situation. I'm not sure how you are wanting to style your hair? Are you wanting to straighten it? Curl it? etc... Whatever you want to do research the best tools to use (straighten, curl, etc) because their is nothing worse then getting a straightener or curling iron that doesn't work well at all!

Invest in good makeup. I always used cheap brands and junk from the drugstore.. Then I finally bit the bullet and invested in MAC makeup. I wouldn't go back to what I used before, I adore MAC! VERY expensive (I've spent probably about $150 so far; I honestly can't leave there without spending at least $60), but professional quality and looks sough better when applied well also at MAC the artists will often apply some of what you're looking at on you (eyeshadow, eyeliner, foundation, whatever) so you can see how it looks on you!
Oh and if you do go to MAC, splurge the money to buy brushes from them. They usually run about $30 each, but work well (I only have the one for my eyeliner but am going to buy one for my foundation). -
Don't cake make up on your face for starters. Just do simple things like mascara and maybe a little lip gloss wouldn't hurt. If you need to get dolled up for something Youtube makeup tutorials always work.

im totaly the same. i didnt start with any hair and makeup untill i was like.. 15 by then all my friends can use foundation perfectly and do cool eye makeup and stuff but im still trying to master eyeliner.
i found youtube videos are actualy quite good or even makeup sets that give you little ideas on how to do your makeup. as for hair just get down with the basics - curling, straightening and blowdrying depends on your hair type and stuff but most is just bobby pins, hairspray and alot of products. And the clouds are marching along singing a song <3:fangirl: -
Honestly? I never wear makeup. I really don't give a how i look. lmaocall it sickness, call it obsession. call it madness, i don't care, i still call it perfection.
