It is undoubtedly either the world cup or the olympics but which do you think and why?
I think the World Cup because in my opinion the olympics is all fireworks and show, and then when it gets down to the actual events it's a bore-fest. Lets be honest who can remember one event from the last olympics other than Usain Bolt winning the 100 metres? Also I don't think the olympics has the same passion as the world cup, or unites people the way football does. Lastly I'm English. That meaning the Olympics is coming to my country in 2012. Am I excited? Not in the slightest. It's just next year and yet I am more bothered that we don't get to host the world cup in 2018. What a scandal that was. Maybe that's what the Olympics has going for it, it's ran by a less scandalous comitee than FIFA. Fancy not giving it to a country that already has all the facilities ready for a world cup, where the facilities used would be put to use afterwards and where football was invented in the first place. Still I don't think that changes anything, it's still a greater spectacle than the Olympics even if it is to be held in Russia (no offense to anyone but Britain was clearly a better choice) or (get your atlas out) Qatar.
