How do I let her down gently?

There's a girl at school who really likes me. We share a lot in common and she is always talking to me. Its actually getting quite annoying. The problem is I'm gay.
She's never directly said that she likes me but its obvious. I dont want to bring it up but at the same time, I know I have to. Otherwise, I'll be leading her on and i'll end up breaking her heart. What should I do? I know the obvious thing is to come out but I want to stay in the closet for a bit longer.

Just tell her you're not really interested in dating right now or ask for some space because you feel like she doesn't leave you alone. Tell her that she'll understand in the future why you're not interested but for now, you can't share the reason. Though I'm sure you telling her you're gay wouldn't be a problem and she may keep it secret for you.

Even without coming out you can definitely just tell her you're not interested in her. If she asks why, there's just simply 'no connection'. It'll hurt her regardless - but that's what she needs to be able to venture elsewhere.

In the mean time, good luck with coming out. I have many gay friends who have just come out, and they seem a lot happier and confident within themselves.

there is no real gentle way to let someone down. always tell her that you really apreciate her, but that it is not the right time. don't blame it on her.

If you're not ready to come out, that's understandable. The poor girl isn't to know that so don't be too hard on her. Try and tell her without telling her, making hints that she's friendzoned and that you aren't interested in a relationship. You don't have to tell her outright unless she still doesn't take the hint

If she flirts with you, be blunt. If she says you're handsome, just laugh and don't say anything, don't compliment her. Girls over think a lot so she's bound to think 'oh maybe he doesn't think I'm pretty' etc. and then it will lead her to think that you're not interested.

I'd tell her that you have a gf from another school, and say, cant we just be friends? Thats what all the girls tell me

Tell her your gay and stay good friends with her.....are you scared she will judge you or something? Lets be real. Being in the closet is hiding from yourself. You gotta a life to live. Open the doors
