No, it's not. It's an insurance mandate. You are giving money to a corporation that is publicly traded on NASDAQ. SURE SOUNDS SOCIALIST TO ME.

You don't think other countries have those things too? AHAHAHAHAHA OH WOW.

You're a stupid fuck. Those are communist countries. Learn the fucking differences between social democracy and Marxism-Leninism.

14% unemployment and economies dragged down by austerity. Sounds like an investor's paradise.
Also LOL @ you because all the Baltic countries have universal healthcare systems, the same thing you're calling 'socialist.'
Your dumb ass needs to do some research on the Scandinavian welfare states and see how successful they are. That's called social democracy by the way.

*Obama has said on numerous occasions that he doesn't support the free markets. I will gather up some information to show that he is a socialist.
Not supporting the idea of a fully liberalized market doesn't make someone a socialist or communist. Only stupid children such as yourself follow the libertarian logic of "BIG GUBMINT IS EVIL BUT WE TOTES HAVE NOTHING TO FEAR FROM PROFIT DRIVEN CORPORATIONS IN A FREE MARKET."

*Punishing people for not getting healthcare seems like the stat of universal health care ;D
*No, the other countries do not. We have the highest amount of illegal immigration in the world ;D
*They're socialist. Perhaps you don't understand what communism is. Why China Isn't Communist - Yahoo! Voices - voices.yahoo.com ;D
*Lets compare Estonia then. It was under socialist rule for nearly 50 years while its neighbor Finland remained free.. Finland was more advanced in everything compared to Estonia.
After Estonia was liberated their life expectancy rose from 72 y/o to 76 y/o. Why? Because they could invest in their own health care system. In 14 years from 1994 to 2008, Estonia gained 2.6 years in life expectancy, a rate of growth similar to Finland's. Theirs more... 2nd post Estonia was experiencing about 19 deaths per thousand births compared to Finlands 5.2.. want to hear something remarkable? In 14 years, they were able to drop the death rate near 60 percent... now they have 7.5 dead births per thousand.
In 1993 Estonias GDP per capita was around 5,400 compared to 16,000 in Finland.. by 2007 Estonia's GDP per capita has grown to 21,000. Their growth rate is over 10 percent per year compared to Finland's annual growth.. theirs more.In 1993, estonia had 25 telephones per 100 people compared to 62 per hundred in Finland. By 2006 the numbers shifted, Estonia has 41 main lines and 127 cell phones for every hundred people. They even surpassed Finland.
*Do a little bit of research what uncontrolled markets can do, pretty remarkable. Hong Kong is a great example. Read The Great Contraction by Milton Friedman to show what government intervention/bank intervention did to cause the Great Depression -

Libertarian is about the only damn party that represents the ideas this country was based on. Why are you so against its ideals? I am assuming it is because the people you have met who support that party represented it quite poorly.. the fact that most of y'all seem to be focusing on the most bogus libertarian representations of "free market" clearly shows that. The party has its flaws, but so do the two major parties. The libertarian party represents the ideas of economic and social liberty; that the government control should be kept at a minimum. I am not a fan of big government, and prefer the idea of individual responsibility and freedom.Seduce&Destroy

How is that even related to this whole argument? -

I stopped reading here, though I'm sure the rest of the post is nonsensical as well. How is an extra tax "punishing" people. Again, if you don't like the taxes then get the fuck out of the country.
I don't like that my tax dollars go to the military. Does that mean when the military is increased the government is "punishing" me? Your logic is so fucking awful it astounds me. -

That's a misleading statement. An extensive welfare system doesn't necessarily mean a social democratic country.
Sweden heavily reformed their economy in the mid 1990's and although it has an extensive welfare system it is not really a social democratic country anymore. The same goes to Finland.
Norway is a special case, beacuse it makes billions from oil export so it can afford an expensive welfare budget. Denmark is a small and homogenous country, it can be an example, but not a very good one.
On the other side, France, Greece and Spain were all social democratic and look when they are now.The post was edited 1 time, last by RDCF ().

Estonia is the Baltic tiger, dip shit.
By not buying something, you'll be punished.. It's not a hard concept you stupid fuck. Stop over thinking everything. -
Our president is black and there's nothing you can do about it.

The many wonderful citizens of the ever so lovely state of mine would reply to that ^ with: it is called the White House for a reason, colored folk don't belong in there.

That's what most Republicans and the closet racist Libertarians think, too.
-
We joke about the racist comments now
-
No, seriously, most of the Republican party is racist. I'd say at least 80%. Libertarians are a bit more skewed. A lot of the top Libertarians (Ron Paul) are racists, but their following really isn't.
-
I doubt that you could back that statement up.
Ron Paul is crazy -

Bush had 22% approval rating at the end.
He may be Christian but he isn't the alter boy that they want.
He's president because he's black. He went from being almost a nobody to being president, it was because he was a negro. Negro is the proper term for a black person. -
