You tell the Nurse and/or Doctor you want to be seen alone. They can fill in your mom when the exam is over with anything she needs to know.Gc1110 wrote:

Yeah once you’re no longer a little kid, like mot single digit age on your own for sure
-
My mom will drive my bothers and me to the examination, but it's been a long time since she went in any of us (she sits out in the waiting room, and usually only comes in at the end if the doctor wants to tell her something).
-
My dad takes me and yes he's on the room during the exam.PM if you want. I'm an open book ask me anything.
-
It’s either mum or dad who come in with us it depends who takes us on the day
-
My dad usually takes me...he's good at convincing mom that boys prefer not to have moms around when talking about guy stuff lol

Just wondering whose mom goes to their physical exams. Like she's in the exam room with you.
My mom always comes in there with me and I know other guys whose moms do.
I don't mind my mom staying there with me and she's better at answering the doc's questions than I am.

The last one my brother and I had at the start of the school year was the first time my mom hasn't been in the room. Before that, she would be in there for all of it

Live for today -
My mom doesn't come in anymore

It's always been my dad who came into the physical exam with me, but this year he's letting me go in on my own. it's weird enough with my dad and the doc seeing me naked but it must be more uncomfortable with your mom[insert signature here]

First few times it was my mom.
She asked me if I still wanted her to come in and I said I was OK on my own and it's been like that since. She's there for the end when we're in the office talking to the doctor and he says what's going on.
That made it seem more serious than what really happens.K.

My mom hasn't come in with me for an exam since I was 11 or so. Now my dad comes with me, though not necessarily into the exam room with me, but he has before and I'm not embarrassed for him to be there. I get pretty nervous at the doctor's so I'm fine with him being there.
-
It's not a big deal to have mom in the room with the doctor.

mine still comes in.

my mom has been leaving the room while the doc examines me, once i am full dresses she comes back in to get info about the exam
-
I don’t ever think that my mom has ever gotten a look at my dick when I’m getting examined. It’s literally only about a 10 second exam anyways the only thing that she’s ever actually seen is me completely down to my boxers for the exam

I didn't have this problem in the UK - we don't have check-ups any time around puberty.
As far as I understand it, the rationale is that very few people have physical problems in their teens.
Have you heard of the bathtub curve? Usually, it is applied to equipment and describes a situation in which, when pieces of equipment go wrong, it is either very soon after starting to use it or very much later. That's because the two causes of failure are distinct - the early failures are things that were not made properly in the first place. The much later failures are when things have worn out. In between things are much more reliable.
It's similar for people, I think. I know the NHS does various checks immediately after birth but after that is it just vaccinations, height and weight measurements. It is down to people themselves/their parents to go to the doctor if they think anything is wrong.
