Like many Americans, especially from the south, I was circumcised shortly after birth and I'm happy I was so I didn't have to deal with this.
Any medical benefits are very minimal and essentially gone after the baby turns 1.
As far as keeping clean, we have showers. The foreskin also serves to keep the bacteria from the diaper out of the hole in the head. (If you don't have your hole covered, bacteria from that poo can go up inside the hole.)
